Same thing here Rene. I've been in several discussions lately (arguments is more like it) about the child abuse and sexual abuse coverups going on. It's always the same sob story back: apostates!!! Things will get good when I bring up Leo Greenlees and Ewart Chitty..UN etc.

With how much of this stuff is running uncontrolled and unchecked in the organization, they're going to make their own prophecies come true.

exactly, six. Had it been just an article without any sort of religious aspect I wouldn't have posted it at jw.com. With the relgious aspect to it I thought some people here might want to see it......

not sure. seems like they pretty much break the rules whenever they want anyway.....

yeah birthdays, disfellowshipping, blood.....all depends on when they get the new batteries for their exclusive new light flashlights.

JW Molester in the News

according to the 8-2-02 sallisaw newspaper, the sequia county times, a local ministerial servant, joseph cowan iii, 25 years of age, was charged with improper contact with a girl 15 years old on june 22 and july 5. it was reported he confessed to his wife and local elders.

this newspaper is not on line, but i was called by a local brother who read the article to me over the phone.

he will be sending a copy through the mail also, but i just thought you would want to know in case you are passing through.

Bright side of a BAD day

it started out having a bad day.... no babysitter had to miss work , friend came over so i went to get a haircut, she followed me there and took care of michael, on the way home, on the freeway, i was on the the third lane to the left and the car engine shuts off and i had to get three lanes over to the right, in major traffic, i barley made and the car dies.. i started to panick cause it's dark and i have michael and i'm on a freeway.... so i get michael and start walking and praying, and this man pulled over and i started to get even more nervous but i accepted the ride, he took me to a gas station and well his truck was really high , like three in a half feet, well i had forgotten about that so when i steped out of his truck i fell with michael in my arms he started screaming and i started to ball my head off.. okay here's my point like 3 people there helped me, the gas station let me use there phone and gave me something to drink, a couple wouldn't leave until they knew i was taken care of offered me money for a cab or tow truck, they waited like 15 minutes.. i thought of you all, who really didn't know me, but were there for me when i needed it the most, there are some really great people out there, and it doesn't matter what religion you belong to.

I think that about sums it up. Growing up, I got so sick and tired of the "JW = good, non-JW = bad" crap. To me that was a pretty simplistic way of looking at things, and--I felt--totally wrong. I tried to make myself believe the JW way, but it never worked.

yeah I heard that they apparently found Holly and Jessica. sad.

I live in the midwestern USA and try to keep up with foreign (BBC, Haaretz, the republic, etc) and domestic news sources.

The only American news source that I've seen this case was on the CNN website frontpage maybe a day or two ago. I don't know if it was on CNN television.
