  does anyone remember one of his shows from the late 1970's when john denver was on the show?

  i never saw the show but heard about it in the jw circle (urban legend??).

  it was known that john denver hated jw's and during their bantering, carson asked denver about his asking jw's to leave during his concerts.

  I looked into this more.

  According to John Denver's page at imdb.com, he was on "The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson" 16 times from August 1972 through October 1990. This incident , to my knowledge, would have happened long before 1990. I find it really hard to believe that if this did happen John Denver would ever go back on there.

  I've heard the same thing. I do remember Johnny making several JW jokes though. One in 1989 was when he would hold up a picture and then say a funny caption for it. The one he held up was a man kicking open the door and Johnny said "the world's most persistant Jehovah's Witness."

  msnbc just reported that former tonight show host johnny carson died of emphysema this morning.

  I still remember my favorite scene with him. Someone was on there showing Johnny a monkey and the monkey all of a sudden JUMPED and I swear must have hit the roof of the studio. It was a HUGE jump. Johnny started looking up like wtf just happened and blurted out, "it's like it had a spring up its @ss" and Ed McMahon just started absolutely roaring. I was crying I was laughing so hard.

  Well, then there's also the famous one with some woman that was on there and she had all these potato chips that looked like famous people. The woman looked away and when she did Johnny reached down and picked up another bowl of chips and took one and put it in his mouth and crunched it and the look on her face was priceless.

  Power of Nightmares re-awakened

  the bbc are re-showing the excellent "power of nightmares" series of 3 programmes.

  bbc2 23:20 on tue 18 to thu 20 of jan.. if anyone missed it first time round i would highly recommend it - you will sit in disbelief that people have got away with what they have and how manipulated the masses are.. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/magazine/4171213.stm.

  CAN WE TRUST DOCTORS?

  most of our local doctors, whom we go to with sore throats, aching backs, etc., are friendly chaps and ladies but even these are indoctrinated, in the main, into accepting that hospital doctors/researchers know best.

  since i became seriously ill i've done a collosal amount of research and i am afraid i'm left with, at the very least, immense suspicion of the recommendations of the majority of medical doctors.

  recently, we have been notified by our gp's surgery that our younger son requires immunisation.

  I used to work for a company called Metagenics- "Genetic potential through nutrition."

  I have some of their products sitting in the kitchen

  I wouldn't take any more vaccinations since I got extremely sick as a baby after I got them.

  Doctors killed my grandmother and almost my mother.

  My dad had a lot of experience with them recently and overall the experience was positive.

  There are few doctors that you can really trust. At the best, it's a crapshoot.

  and behind the front desk, i see someone who looks familiar.. only when she turns and looks at me do i realize she is a witness i know.. so the lady who did my bible study, it's her daughter that is working with me.

  i just find it funny...you just can't run and you definitely can't hide from these people!.

  I am excited about learning how to do my job, and getting to know the people. But the girl who is training me isn't so excited about training me. She doesn't talk to me and when I ask her a question she mumbles a response under her breath where I can't really hear it. Plus she talks down to me like I am a little kid or something and like I am stupid.

  Maybe she is jelous of you because you're younger/prettier/etc ....?
