You can find pronunciation on computers now, so no reason to not check
But you only check when you are unsure - and you can be pretty confident when using a wrong pronunciation. Recently, I heard some pronunciations different from the one I used. I was relieved that I was on the correct side on this one after checking online.

I have to admit that I as a non-native speaker thought that "pree-lood" was correct.
Reminds me of a situation in the past, when my father was an Elder and had to speak about the "Kingdom Interlinear Translation" which is only available in English. He spoke no English at all and so he asked me. I told him that it was pronounced "Inter-line-ear". When someone from the congregation pronounced it correctly in a comment he kept on pronouncing it wrong because I told him so. I later found out that I tought him bullshit. It was a bit embarrasing.

I feel this board has a tendency to the right. But in the end, the JW are a fundamentalist conservative Christian Cult that want to see people dead that are not like them. And most did not leave because they reject that idea.
Yes ,becoming an ex JW ,you learn to accept other viewpoints and lifestyles that were against WT/JW beliefs .
You become more tolerant and accepting of people for who they are and not what their lifestyle or beliefs are.
This board tells that this is not true for all.

i have had two jabs of the oxford-astrazeneca vaccine.. after my first jab i experienced flu-like symptoms - shivering, wanted to lie down in a dark room, etc.. i experienced no side effects after my second shot.. how about you?.

i’m seeing my hard core believing relatives slowly losing faith that the watchtower is the organization that “god” is using to represent him on earth.. just about all the churches in their area have opened up.. but not the watchtower.. this is having an affect on the faith of even the old timers.
now the only ones who are still holding the faith are the female jws and only those past 70 years of age.
even my old male jw relative past 70 are starting to say that it can’t be jehovah’s organization because the other churches are all open and god supposed organization who is supposed to preach the warning message is still closed with no open in sight.
They can take this to 1,260 days and claim that the Witnesses were clothed in sackcloths.
the emphasized bible (rotherham) is now included in the wt library under "other bibles.".
therefore it joins kit, kjv, asv, & the bible in living english in such group.. any thoughts?.
They could also include the NT by Johannes Greber.
i keep hearing that the watchtower org is going to be around forever because of the many other religions that have been around a long time.
but i disagree because the wt is not like other religious cults.. the watchtower's breath of life is dependent on the last days that started in 1914. .
you can’t change 1914 without a death blow to the entire organization.. the watchtower's 2nd reason for staying alive, is it's continual urging that the life saving preaching work of warning people is the most important work ever.. but- it's very obvious to many, even the old ones that instead of speeding up the work------the work is slowing down to a drip.. comment by former believer; .
The Bible Students still use the Watchtowers from 1874-1916. Maybe JW can reprint those, too.
i also was intrigued by the russellites and the break away sects that formed before and after charles taze russell.
i can only imagine what the bible students were thinking when rutherford became the next watchtower president..
I still think it is fascinating history,
a pew study from 2020 (but one i just now came upon myself) reported that the more liberal you are, the more likely you are to have a mental health condition.
the worst suffering group are white females, ages 18-29 where over 56% have admitted to be described by their own doctors as having a mental health condition.
conservative females of the same age group suffer at less than half that number (27%).. while women tend to have more mental health problems than men (don't be mad at me for saying it, this is what the study reports) it is notable that liberal men have a higher percentage of mental health conditions than conservative women in the same age group.
I think liberals are more open for seeking help. Many conservatives are sure they are doing great and just do not need this. Now and then, some start shooting people and then they are forced to get examined.
