it appears that the tides are turning upon the wts.
judging by recent child abuse cases, un scandal and blood doctrine change that the wts is being exposed and that the rest of the world is taking note.
Well, somehow I feel much of this will bring a lot of people to open up their eyes, but it seems there are so many that would follow the WTS to their graves. Such is typical for any Cult like group. The WTS in many JW's eyes can really do no wrong. I mean look at the REAL date of the BIG "A", not just a suggested one "1914". Soon after that day came and went (along with a few other dates soon after, due to the miscalculations LOL), many fell away and saw they were a False prophet bunch. Yet they seemed to survive, somehow. I'm sure that the WTS will survive this one as well, with a loss of membership, but the diehards will still stand by them, their heads buried in the sand, and feeling as they always say, "they are only human" and "they didn't mean it that way" or "it is now new light,it was not fully understood then". Yeah right, well what ever. I am however looking forward to the day when these idiots (JW's) stop calling me the liar, and they see who really are the liars here. LOL everytime the NGO thing got brought up, the only words from their mouths were, "your such a liar", "is that all you do is go around and spread lies about the WTS?". NOw I love to rub it in their faces, Who was the liar??? HMMMMMM

given how the org went after tobacco in the late sixties, resulting in it's total prohibition in the early seventies, based on the health communities claims of how bad it was destroying the body (a claim not disputed by me) and how they made it a disfellowshipping offense to smoke, chew or otherwise use tobacco, i wonder if they will now ban eating at mcdonalds?.
there is a group out there of health professionals (or claimed) that wish to heavily tax mcdonalds and other so called junk food places.
the taxes would be used to treat all the millions of people who are afflicted with the dreaded disease of obesity and to combat the rising costs of treating these poor misguided individuals that have been led astray, thinking they were getting healthy food at the loacl greasy pits.. will the elders start smelling everyone's breath upon entry to the kingdom halls for tell tale signs of mustard and pickles?
Funny you should mention this. As a kid growing up in a typical California JW household (if that can be called typical), back in the 60's, I remember a time when we were not allowed to eat at McD's. This was not so much set down by the WTS as it seemed to be a local belief and rumor, about some supposed brother that took a McD's burger and had it tested at some sort of lab. It supposedly contained BLOOD (!!! OH MY). So the good little J-duds that we were boycotted the place for years. I don't really know what changed, but it seemed we started eating there again in the 70's. So far as I know there is blood in all the meat we eat, kinda hard to get rid of all of it.

I'm sure many of you are familiar with the "Dawn Bible Students", they are one of the break off groups that left when the drunk took over the WTS after Russell died. If anyone is interested, they still print the "Studies in the Scriptures", I however am not sure, how much has been edited over the years. I do aprecieate, the comments on the subject, and agree with much of what you are saying. I feel life starts in the womb, not at birth, but that actually is another issue. Somehow I recall my parents (JW) believing that if the baby died in the womb, it would not have a resurection. A correct view or wrong view is really not the point of what I am looking for. I find it sort of hard to beleive that the Governing Booty, would never have adderssed this issue in at least a "Question from readers" or such. The right or wrong view is not n question, it is just "What is their view on it"? Has it ever been addressed and if so where?

I have a question. According to the beliefs of the JW's do the unborn babies take part in the resurection after the "great day"?? I need to have some reference in the WT literature. I would do the research on the subject but I no longer have the material (JW) to do the research. But it was a question that came up on the different beliefs, from a JW friend of mine and I said I didn't think they did take part in the resurection. He said that they did, but he had no evidence either. Could someone help me out here with WT Publicaton references PLEASE :)

Interesting quotes, I've seen a couple of the ones you posted but never the one that includes the Chinese. Funny thing about the people of China, many of the things we take advantage of or think of as "modern inventions" were invented in China and then some were lost with time. Even some of our sports such as Golf and Soccer (football for many of you). The compass, seismic (earthquake) dectection devices, gunpowder, ect. ect. Even our prized porcelain wares were all invented in china, many years even centuries before these, "keenly" intelligent "white" people discovered them.
Ahhh such is the ex-sperts that the WTS uses. I remember the quotes from ex-sperts that the WTS used, saying that getting a vaccination, transplant, or blood transfusion, would cause you to become "animal like" or become like the person that the transplants or blood were taken from (i.e. if he/she were a murderer, you would be much like that person). I wonder where they get these experts, they must scour the world looking for some idiot with a degree to say something like these.

i've been doing a little research into a pharoah named akhenaten.
been coming up with some variances in dates and would like to know if anyone else has run across this info.. akhenaten (amenhotep iv) reigned 1379-1362 bc.
according to 'the bible timeline' moses was born in 1355 bc, right after akhenaten.
Some interesting reading I have found on this subject;

can anyone give me a list over the names/labels in the bible (john, jerimiah, psalms...) in the order they appear.. or a list with the names/labels translated into danish... i'm having a hard time looking up verses i find in this forum, in my danish bible.. (actually i don't have a bible - but it's on the internet).. thank you.
