Don't many religious texts have explanations for demons?
I've never experienced anything paranormal that I haven't debunked myself but am still open to the possibility.
i know that a lot of the people on here have turned their backs on the idea of a deity deciding that god does not exist.
but what about the unseen spirit world generally such as poltergeists, jinns, voodoo, etc.
if you have become agnostic, atheist, or just don't care since leaving, do you think that there are spirits out there or have you decided that is also hokum?

if humans have to suffer to have free will and to disprove satan's challenge to god as mentioned in the bible...then why the f*ck do animals have to suffer as well?
.
satan's challenge involved humans and not poor animals.. i'm looking for an honest explanation from believers.. at this point, the older i get, the less i believe in a god who is "love"..

this manipulative new caleb and sophia video has got me so angry!!.
the level of cultiness has just gone to a whole new level!.

I find it ironic and hypocritical how the Watchtower speaks against any entertainment with magic or spiritistic themes yet in their very own cartoons they depict Satan waving his hands around harnessing "magic".
I guess they justify it as being a Biblical lesson but the animators sure took artistic liberty.

though many things in the bible do not make sense to me, there is something in it that makes my life easy.. this is how i arrived at it.
bible defines god as the servant of his children because he makes provisions for the enjoyment of life in abundance (mathew 5:44-47) and ‘renews’ them if need arises (mathew 19:28) with no intervention whatsoever in between which means he is not interested in gratitude/worship from his children.
yet history shows that people forget him in happiness and remember him only in distress which means he is not given love (though he is the giver of love), and he is not bothered of it.

Well said.
When I first started posting here after leaving the JWs, I was still hungry for the belief in God. This is evidenced by some of the topics started in my posting history. Even then I acknowledged that there was no objective, verifiable proof and that it was just faith.
Intellectual honesty has further led me to agnosticism and some days atheism.
does anyone else feel overwhelmed on what to believe?.
i've been doing lots of research on beliefs, evolution, creationism but i feel no further forward about what i truly believe.
for example i looked at the fossil record and tiktaalic and thought great it proves a lot but then i've seen counter arguments on youtube of people basically saying its a load of rubbish and doesn't prove anything.
I understand feeling overwhelmed. Check out my post history for topics I've started that showed my confusion on what to believe.
We will never truly and objectively know the right answer.
On my good days, I just try to live in the moment.
I like this quote:
"The Universe is under no obligation to make sense to you." - Neil deGrasse Tyson
i don't mean for anyone to get into argument over this, i just want to hear what people believe.i hope that no one will mock or argue with someone else about their beliefs, i know that i won't in this topic.. i still believe in a christian god, not what jws believe, but believe that there has to be something after this life.
i am not sure about how armageddon would go, would it be like how evangelicals believe with a rapture or timing or anything, though i still believe in a form of armageddon.
i do think that all good people will go to heaven but i don't believe in a hell.
Check my posting history and you'll see how confused I am.
I believe there has to be some sort of afterlife sometimes only because I'm afraid of there being nothing and other times because this universe is so complex I believe anything could be plausible.

@James Jack
I'm with you!
thought i'd start a separate discussion on the subject.. those who know me know i'm struggling with faith; i want to believe, some days i do but it becomes difficult.. many believers say there is verifiable proof of jesus' existence outside of the bible.. please post this proof..
@_Morpheus
It's frustrating in the event that it is actually all true and we must believe even if the Bible is all there is.
