Is Being a “Manly Man” a Bad Thing?
by minimus inso much is said regarding men , in a negative way.
shaving commercials are now lecturing us as to how bad we really are.
men should be less masculine.

Here is my opinion on the article I posted; my opinion and nothing more.
The American Psychological Association (APA) is a credible organization. There must be something to their scientific research and published study.
Has there been a published scientific rebuttal to the APA's study?
And yes we need to put our trust into scientific papers unless we ourselves are scientists and can objectively and scientifically counter published studies or find counter studies published by others. If not what can we put our trust in? The scientific method is the best tool we have to understand our universe. Sure, scientific papers are not infallible but we can't start blanket denying the credibility of scientific papers. Of course we are all entitled to our opinions.

You did offer me your opinions on the article as I asked so thanks for that. I will take them into consideration.

Definitely noticed how quickly debates get heated. I don't get why.

I'm not educated enough on the subject to debate it or form an unbiased opinion on the subject but I thought I'd share this article.
Quoting: "‘Traditional masculinity’ officially deemed ‘harmful’ by American Psychological Association"

@em1913 said,
The manliest man I ever heard of was Fred Rogers -- a man of absolute principle, of absolute kindness, and absolute confidence in his mission in life. If all men followed his example, the world would be a far better place.
Agreed. Well said.

@scruffmcbuff said,
"ive been described as gay because of my knowledge and interest in jewelry and watches."
Same here. Although I am heterosexual, I once had an elder use a homophobic slur against me just because I had some jewellery on. It is unfortunate that some still use derogatory, homophobic slurs even after leaving the Jehovah's Witnesses.

When I first heard about the controversial ad, I thought "oh no". I then checked it out and it wasn't as bad as I thought. Certainly had some good messages. I wasn't angry.

How to Argue for Creationism
by cofty inall creationist arguments follow an identical pattern.. first a quick way to remember the format - 'complexity, complexity, complexity; therefore god'.. now a more detailed guide to formulating an argument.. identify some complex feature of the natural world.
a quick google search or nature documentary will quickly provide inspiration.
creationist websites have hundreds of them you can copy-paste without attribution.. do no research at all on what is currently known about the evolutionary history of this feature.

Reflecting On Death
by Charles Gillette inreflecting on death.
i can't remember, maybe steve jobs before he died.i thought i would share it with you and see what you think about it, and i'm quoting i think from his book.. "i'm about fifty-fifty on believing in god.
for most of my life, i've felt that there must be more to our own existence than meets the eye.. i might be overestimating the odds 50/50 out of a desire to believe in an afterlife.
