This is not to say that everything they say is wrong. In fact, 90 or 95% could be perfectly factual for all I know. But since the government has lied to us in the past, it would be naive to think they cannot or will not do so again. The one thing that it is hard to tell at the time, of course, is what is the 5 or 10% that is a lie? Sometimes we don't find out until 5 or 10 years have passed, and then you get some obscure article that explains the "facts" that turned out not to be so. Sometimes you find out sooner. But although I don't know what's going on yet, I'm reasonably certain that history will repeat itself and some subterfuge will happen over the coming months.

Doesn't mean I don't support my government, for I do. I just keep both eyes open while I do so.

in truth, the bible advanced women's rights in the ancient world, even in a paternalistic society.

here are the results of research into this topic.. num 5.12--the trial of bitter waters (sotah) is a an amazing provision by god for a woman to publicly clear her name (and indict a dysfunctional husband in the process).

I did, Rex. Just read between the lines of my illustration and you'll see the mistake in reasoning you made. Just because you can find some scriptures favorable to women, it doesn't negate all the scriptures that treat women like dirt.

reports are coming from the united states that small flags and flag badges are being distributed at schools and other public places.. many are refusing to take a flag and this is causing resentment and hurt feelings.

No, we are dealing with fellow humans. Some of whom deserve to die, but humans nonetheless. Having your attitude is no more helpful than it was to pretend the WWII Japanese and Germans were subhuman. That's a good propaganda technique, but it isn't reality, and it doesn't help the situation. If you cannot understand your enemy, you can never defeat them.

i have a friend in malaysia, who is a muslim, and she has been sending me lots of things since the wtc attack.

most are theories she is hearing in that predominantly muslim nation, about zionists, and american conspiracies agains islam.

this morning she sent me a very weird thing.. the flight number for one of the flights that hit the towers, was q33.

As for 11s, forget about 'em. What time did WWII end? The American Revolution? What time of day was the atomic bomb dropped? No 11s there.

Numbers repeat and we get coincidences. That's all there is. It's like the Bible Code. Total nonsense, but if you string enough letters together you eventually get a few patterns that automatically and randomly emerge.

No, no, no! This was not a flight number. The Q33 was a sequentially assigned number on an Islamic web site. There was page labelled Q31, and one labelled Q32, and one labelled Q33, etc. The Q33 one had information about the attack.

This appears to be completely coincidence. The thing about numbers is that if you DIDN'T have these odd coincidences now and then -- that's when there would be suspicion.

...it was an effective speech.

i was impressed, and thought it only fair to say so here given the recent political discussions.

If you are right, we are still left with the fact that America was attacked...so what do you think America should do?

Defend itself and attack the terrorists who committed this crime. Nothing should take away from the fact that what happened last week was horrible. It is a given that those who committed this crime did so against humanity itself, and should be punished.

All the more paranoid among us are saying is that it may also give them the opportunity to take care of a bunch of other political enemies at the same time, all under the cover of a War on Terrorism. That's the part that has nothing to do with freedom or democracy, not the part about bringing to justice those criminals who attacked the WTC and Pentagon.

perhaps you recall the instance in the bible where samson made a wager with the philistines that they couldnt guess his riddle.

as it turned out they wheedled the answer out of him by his fiancee, but the point is that they had a wager.

since the underlying assumption of the apostasy is that we are not living in the last days of this system of things, and that this world is not facing anything remotely like the biblical apocalypse, at least not any time soon, in the spirit of such antagonism, i would like to propose a similar wager.

My prediction called for financial collapse or war by the end of October. We still have a month to go.

You see folks? Earlier he claimed to have already won his wager. Now he admits he has a month to go. This is why we tell people You Know can't be trusted. His words go back and forth with the wind.

However, I agree with this statement. You Know does have a month to go. This will be the 5th October in a row I've waited for one of his predictions to come true. So far, he's 0-for-4. Maybe he'll get lucky and get one right for a change. Even a stopped clock is right twice a day. Flipping a coin will get you the right answer roughly 50% of the time. You Know hasn't even been this good.

Thanks for updating the scoresheet. Lemme see, what is the current score, something like:

I especially found this comment of his funny:

Speaking of denial, look at You Know. He claims to have won this wager already. But even he backtracked to say, "I didn't say the financial system had collapsed---yet, but it is obviously in a bit of a panic. "

He admits there has been no collapse, and as for a panice, it's only a "bit of a panic," whereas his original wager was "full-blown panic crisis." From his own mouth comes inadvertant admission of defeat. Even his third claim, war, is wrong, for he claimed the financial system would be at war, and that hasn't happened, nor can a financial system go to war. The military can go to war, but not the markets. And unlike You Know's expectations, what has been declared is not what he expected. He thought it would be nation against nation. Instead it's nations against criminals on the run. Some commentators have said we shouldn't even call this a 'war' as that dignifies our enemy as if they are combatants, instead of the criminals that they are.

You Know is wrong on all 3 of his predictions, yet claims he won anyway. An accomplished liar at work, folks.
