BETHELITES - Whatever Became of?
by Black Man ini often times wonder what happened to certain bethelites that i ran around with during my 1990s tenure there.
while there are still a few left there, the greater majority of them aren't there for various reasons (marriage, disillusionment, left the borg, etc).
a couple of cats i wonder about - there was one brother who i believe was from kansas, who got his fingers cut off in a printing press.

Anyone remember? Big guy. Went bald and got heavy, I think. Not sure if he's been downsized or not.

V- You may be right. We've talked about a lot of this stuff over the years - we were together a long time. So it's not all new. My ex is not the type to research much of anything. She studies her WT, underlines for all the meetings. You know. Typical JW.
I guess part of what I was trying to get across was that when you do just that superficial study and you swallow a lot of the WTS mythology, you think, wow, the Witnesses have an answer for EVERYTHING. They're just so wonderful.
Perhaps more than trying to convince her to change her view and leave the Witnesses, which I never see happening, I wanted her to realize that there were A LOT of issues the WTS has trouble dealing with. That's why I brought up several things.
She's one of those JWs who's conditioned to feel that anyone who leaves can never do it for a good reason - say, that the WTS makes no sense, that there is a huge body of fact that contradicts many JW beliefs, etc. People only leave because they are weak, stumbled, etc.
That was part of why I did that. I really wasn't thinking I'd convince her to leave, just that I might shake that blind confidence that everything JW was better than everything else, that the WTS really has things all figured out.

Why Are Barb Anderson's Comments Missing from Silentlamb's NBC Transcript?
by Seeker4 ina few weeks ago i was checking out a few details on line about the nov. 12, 2007 nbc broadcast concerning the wts settlement on the west coast pedophile cases, and the release of the court documents on cd by barbara anderson.
i think it was lisa meyers who interviewed barbara, and brian williams was hosting.
well, i figured silentlambs had a transcript of the show, and i went there, only to find that they indeed had the transcript, but all of barbara's portion of the interview was oddly missing, and there was no link to the video.

There are people on here who have contacted Silentlambs about this. No response yet. If someone asked this during the conference call, that would be interesting. Perhaps the response could be posted on this thread.
As far as Barbara, how do you think you'd feel if you'd been cut out of something like that? It would likely not set well.
If Bill or Barbara want to comment on the other questions, they should feel free.

No response from my ex yet, and I expect none. I think she's upset at me, and I'll try to smooth that over in the next week or so.
