  Hey, bro, welcome, and let me help you out with the formatting:

  I joined JWD about 3 weeks ago and have been "lurking" for those 3 weeks.....til now. A little about me....was born into the "truth" along with 4 other siblings.None of us have anything to do with the "truth." I'm the oldest in my 30's married my H.S. sweetheart (she studied and we got dunked at the same C.A. so we could get married in a KH,what fools we were at 18 & 19) we have 2 kids togther.

  We have been inactive since roughly '01 except for the annual memorial.I grew up in a SUPER dysfunctional family-do as the "truth" says not as we do mantra.My mom was df'd twice and my dad once(both are back in the Org. now) Two of my brothers married "worldly" girls,1 is engaged to one and the other has been dating his woman for 6 plus years.All these girls are really nice and caring people(except one)who I refuse to believe will be destroyed at Armageddon.

  My wife's whole family are not JW's and are some of the nicest people I ever met,helped us out financially for our wedding and when I was in between jobs,helped a GREAT deal with watching the kids when my school schedule conflicted with my wife's work schedule,etc,etc,etc.However my father in law smokes and he and my mother in law gamble so they will be destroyed at Armageddon!!!!

  My mom's family which I haven't spoken to in 10 plus years are the most dispicable people to society and yet their still in good standing as JW's.My mother's father(i won't even call him my grandfather)who is now deceased used to beat the livin crap out of my mom and her siblings,smoke and had several extramarital affairs on my mother's mom yet he professed to be of the anointed and partook of the emblems....C'MON. However my dad's side of the family-my aunt's and uncle's are still in the "truth" and really helped us out when we would get beat up by our parents mentally and physically.

  We would spend weekends with them or just get a break from hell in our house if only for an afternoon.As my parent's got older they softened a bit and loosen the belt so that my younger siblings didn't have it so bad as me and my 31 yr old sibling had.I cherish the relationship w/ my dad's side of the family but I was never good at leading a double life it's far too exhausting having to C.Y.A. on everything.

  I really started to delve into the hypocrisy of the WTB&TS with the change in the blood doctrine.I mean we were forbidden to talk to or engage in any activity with "worldly" people,yet their stored blood is okay to transfuse fractions of into our body......WTF!!! You can't get blood fractions w/out WHOLE BLOOD "stored for medical use" from "worldly" people!! So let me get this straight....You can't store or donate your OWN blood to get fractions however you can use the blood" stored or donated for medical use" to get those fractions which if you took every fraction available would be roughly 6-8% shy of whole blood

  anyway...I really need to reevaluate the WTB&TS teachings but at the expense of losing my dad's side of the family....hmmmmmm..... a tough decision but one that's need to be addressed. I can't slave for 2 masters........................I never could...........

  Is age just a number? 30 year difference between partners....

  a collegue of mine, a mother of 19 year old twins is distressed.

  her one son has been going out with an older women (this came to light when the other twin was sick and tired of all the lying going on) the truth is that the older women turns out to be her very good friend, who is now 49 years old.

  let's call her madam x.. madam x is a very '"sweet"" woman - i know her, as i used to work with her.

  While it's no one's business if they are adults, your comment quoted above maybe indicates she's worked hard to stay looking good, and this is the reward! A fit, attractive woman is an appealing package at any age, especially here in the States where most middle aged women are fat, flabby and unappealing - to me at least. But considering the same is true of guys, they at least have each other, though I wonder what the sex life is like for the out of shape middle aged.

  im so happy ive got to tell someone!

  at the beginning of the year i made the final mental decision to leave the truth and fade.

  i havent been out in service or to a meeting in a long time.

  i remember being in my dub uncles friends car when e,w & f came on and he goes "don't let your unc know you heard this song".

  i didn't ask why at the time, but then some years later i hear again that dubs have something against e, w & f. (not that they don't have something against anyone who isn't one of them) but what went on between the two groups?

  it's unavoidable... when a jw finds out you no longer believe it's "the truth," they're eager to jump on flaws in your thinking.

  they (and formerly, we) want to believe that, when someone leaves, there must have been something that "soured you" to the organization.

  some personal thing that resulted in bitterness and therefore your departure.. it's good to be able to say that you didn't leave because of any big scandal or personal affront, isn't it?

  Also wanted to say how great Leonard Cohen is. I play a bunch of his songs on guitar. A remarkably talented man, just inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and still singing and performing though he's in his 70s now.

  i'll be free from the bondage of the watchtower pharisees.. after over a year now of researching my belief in god and the watchtower society, i'm convinced that i can't live my life untill i'm out.. they finally just a few weeks ago deleted me as an ms, over six months after i asked them to.

  that's a big relief.

  they didn't get the hint from my 2 hrs.

  The WTS almost never brings up any of their controversies in the congregations - ESPECIALLY the ones that have some validity.
  
  The only ones I've heard addressed are the old rumors about someone in the art department burying subliminal pictures in the WTS art. That was a "safe" one as there was a reasonable explanation and not much validity to the stories.
  
  Stuff like the UN membership, the pedophile law suits, their comments to the East European government (Romania??) essentially lying about the JW stand on blood transfusions, etc. will NEVER be addressed openly. The rank and file only know about these things if they get their info from an outside source. That's why the typical apostate knows WAY more about what's happening in the WTS than the average active Witness.

  We've done a few informal polls, and it is much more likely that for everyone one of us that comes here when we are thinking of leaving the WTS or have left, there are many times that number who leave and never come here.
  
  I'm in touch with many friends who have faded, and I'm the only one who posts here. so I'm one out of about 40-50 that I can think of right off.
  
  By the way, I appreciate the comments. Was much the same for me when I came on line back in the 90s.
