Charlie Rose and "Fresh Air's" Terri Gross are hands down the best "talk" show hosts.
On the more mainstream side, I loved Carson, Dick Cavett was great, and today I prefer Leno and Conan to Letterman.
The British late night guy, the one who was on The Drew Carey Show, has a second home in this little Vermont town where my paper's offices are. Guess he has a girlfriend from here. He's frequently seen around town. Just can't remember his name at the moment.

Thanks for these links. Ken Wilber's writings were a great help to me when I was leaving the Witnesses. I haven't looked into these sites for a bit, but will now.

BETHELITES - Whatever Became of?
by Black Man ini often times wonder what happened to certain bethelites that i ran around with during my 1990s tenure there.
while there are still a few left there, the greater majority of them aren't there for various reasons (marriage, disillusionment, left the borg, etc).
a couple of cats i wonder about - there was one brother who i believe was from kansas, who got his fingers cut off in a printing press.

In the list that A@G quoted above, Ray Spatz is still at Bethel, running the braille section last I heard. his brother in law is a faded JW and a close friend of mine. Steve Lupo is an elder in the Burlington, VT area, either Burlington or Essex Congregation. Steve was a good friend of mine since we were teenagers.

Min, you should add a "virtual online sex" section for those folks who feel that the offline sex is just not what it's cracked up to be, so to speak.
You'd have to require "safe sex only" - which in the online world requires that you wear rubber gloves when typing, I believe.
You is brilliant!

So, you blew your chance to go to college because of JWs? Don't give up!
by cabasilas ini got the jw "bug" as a teenager.
witnesses called at our door when i was nearly 11. my parents are deaf and i was the oldest hearing child, the default interpreter for them in that era before relay services and professional interpreters.
they had no interest in jws, but it started to spark an interest in me.

That is so great for you. What are you studying?
I'm 56, and have thought about doing the same thing. Money is always an issue. The other is that I am a newspaper editor, writer and photographer, and work surrounded by college grads - and I would be hard pressed to get a better job with a degree.
But you're an inspiration!

Grace, goodbye and the very best to you. You've been a delight, even to this old atheist!
Love you, and drop in some of these other threads from time to time and check out your old friends!

Ooops, I stand corrected. He said some of the moderators did their work while drunk, and Simon did ban him a year ago.

I'm not so sure that he was banned from JWD. I'd heard that before, but it wasn't true at the time. His last post was exactly a year ago this month.
I'm sure Alan is just busy with other things. I miss him, though.
