A local politician called at my door recently. My grandchild was stood by me. He spoke to her and asked age/ name. I realised how super creepy this is and that if I was an active publisher I would never do that again.

Things you can not say in "field service" anymore.
by greenhornet inmany years ago we would be on someone's doorstep, when waiting for the house holder to come to the door we say something like ... yea after the big a this is going to be my house.
imagine saying that today with the common use of doorbell cameras and the squatting problem .

Can anyone tell me what the livestream/recorded talk is that is happening in UK this weekend? Went to Memorial to please family. Now been invited to this! No intention of going though.
I do wonder why they think I have stopped all JW activity after decades of being PImi and currently being in good health. If I had a problem with a particular congregation there are several within reach.

Just a random question?
by Riley incompletely unrelated to the wts.. i have a co worker who i use to hang out with his son in high school.
he doesn’t remember me.

I like it when people remember my parents now deceased. Even if it is a bit emotional.
Years ago a couple in our congregation lost their only child. I don't know if she was late teens perhaps. A long time after they asked me if I remembered her. But I was probably only a small child at the time. I remembered the name because my mum would say how terribly sad it was. (Thinking back she never said - oh well, she"'ll be resurrected ). In that moment I would have loved to be able to recount some happy interaction with their girl.

Bible Dramas - they really have no idea
by eyeslice init seems the watchtower are ploughing ahead with bigger and better film studios but come on, they really have no idea.. how come all the people in times past look like healthy, middle class americans/ europeans/australians in costume?
get real.
even a visit to rural india today would give a hint of how people probably lived back then.

Have been sniggering at the home page of Borg website with the depiction of
Jesus and apostles at Last Supper. Those boys have done some serious work on their hair. Bizarre!

I never had a happy birthday this year 5/7
by smiddy3 inmy wife had a hip replacement on june the 17th and while the op itself was apparently succesful ,she has had a reaction to the anesthetic ?
and has suffered delirium and is still in hospital with no apparent improvement.. its been very distressing for me to say the least.
sorry if i sound a bit morbid but i just had to share,.

I do hope that your wife is showing signs of improvement and that the meeting with the doctor was helpful.
I also hope you are taking care of yourself. I expect the hours that you are not with her are full of unease and then not looking after yourself as you would look after your wife. Please try so you can keep your own strength up.
And you have no reason for feeling guilty for encouraging your wife to have the op. By far the.vast majority of hip replacements lead to a big improvement in the quality of life and you had every reason to expect that.
kind regards

Homeopathy and Jehovah's Witnesses.
by jojorabbit inyears ago, the jws did not like modern medicine.
vaccines and other things were all deemed bad.
this gave rise to a lot of jws getting into alternative medicines.

Bioreasonance seems to be latest fad I've heard about. Expensive but can diagnose and cure anything - apparently. I wonder if JWs are so busy checking treatments aren't demonic they forget to check anything else. To be fair it's their personal choices. As long as they don't badger other people not going. As if.

Does he really have a sex problem ?
by ozziepost inlike many, i’ve been bemused at lloyd evan’s excuses/reasons for his lusting after prostitutes.
apparently, as he claims in his disastrous video, he blames his wife for being inadequate between the sheets.. could the real answer to his ‘problem’ be closer to home?.
perhaps if he consulted a medical person or even a sex therapist he may learn his “problem” is not down to the borg at all, it may simply be caused by his weight i.e.

Perhaps we ought to have a section for dating for the not so young! I noticed the Borg told youngsters they could find someone in the Breakout Room on Zoom. How depressing . Even when assemblies are in real time all the volunteering is done with own congregation. They haven't got a lot of opportunity to work out what they need in a partner and have a good look around.

Covid is making a comeback. Going back to the Kingdom Hall is becoming more of a Hope, (like Armageddon)
by pistolpete inif you have been keeping up with the news, many cities are seeing an uptick in covid cases.
mask mandates are being implemented in many cities.. many pimos are relating that their pimi parents and grandparents are scared to go back and are having a hard time following the elder's exhortation to attend the memorial, because it might be the last.. a lot of pimi's are saying; that it doesn't make logical sense for large groups of people to meet in a crowded building passing and touching emblems and wine glasses while covid is still around and vaccines have not prevented the death of many who still got the virus.
the elders keep reminding the sheeple that "we must obey, even if it doesn't make sense.".

Memorial invite
by JoenB75 innow they start inviting to their "commemorate the death of jesus" event.
it always makes me a bit sad.
i don’t think i could endure to watch it myself today.

People who are baptized but not associated for.ages may come to the Memorial and be welcomed but woe betide them if they visit again as questions will be.asked as to their lifestyle etc. Also it was quite a competitive spirit as to who had the most interested people/studies attending. Some of the outlines are very graphic in describing what happened to Jesus. Totally unsuitable for children. This year's event could be a super spreader! Perhaps partakers could have portions wrapped like plane food and somebody could walk up the aisle with a tray similar to.what used to be carried in cinemas for ice.cream.
