The governing body of the sixties would think apostasy has crept into head office based on all of them claiming anointed status after 1935. Being directed by Holy Spirit is their divine appointment just like JC ,except there is no appeal committee ,to ask God if he chose Big Tony Morris on what merits.

If anyone claimed that god speaks to them personally.....
by jambon1 inthey'd be viewed as completely mentally ill and laughed at.. so, how do the governing body get away with it?.

Undecided

i saw a group of jws gathered in the town car park yesterday.
they seemed startled when they recognised my car and talked amongst themselves giving one another a satisfied grin!

I don't ever want to see the inside of KH again ,unless there was a apostate gathering held a same location.

Is changing the "truth" / presenting "new light" really so bad?
by Zana inplaying devil's advocate here.... what's the difference between the gb changing bible interpretations compared to parliaments all over the world changing laws?
although the us constitution (=bible) remains untouched, congress passes i don't know how many new laws every year.
and of course people are expected to follow them.

Hypocritical video on jw.org "what's a real friend."
by stuckinarut2 inhave you watched the 4 min animated white board drawing video on jw.org called "what's a real friend?".
it is one of the most hypocritical pieces they have produced!.
it goes into detail explaining that real friends "don't judge you, dont talk about you behind your back, don't hold grudges, don't expect you to conform, and encourage individuality!".

Christ said a real friend helps ANY person in need. Turn up at bethel and tell them you need shelter and food for two days and the representative of bethel will show you who your real friends are.

i asked my wife to stay home from the meeting tonight and spend the evening with me.she is.... we celebrated our 19th wedding anniversary this past monday.. i must admit, i never saw any of this coming, but it couldn't have come sooner.i'm free of all the fake friendships.

2 month ago I had maybe seven good friends from JWs , today stands at 0.5. Can you see the trajectory trend . My " worldly" friends remain the same . I rejected my worldly associations 27 years ago, yet these friends take me back with no conditions. Yet all my JW friends who I would trust my life with have rejected me due to differing religious opinion. They call me an apostate, even when I quote their own literature. I know it's the same old story for most of us here , I just didn't realise how blind or narrow minded they are. I should have when we offered people our JW literature yet refused their books .Its a lonely road being a whistle blower.

Lets be honest we will never expose the danger to the world of JW.org
by James Mixon ini thought, ok the case in australia would open the eyes of the world about this dangerous cult.. well that passed without a ripple.
we talk about the un and the wt link, none jw's don't.

We might never accomplish full protection of unsuspecting public, but hell we are going to try. Every broken family deserves our earnest effort. We on here are a people with genuine empathy, because it's only us who fully understand the dangers to the family arrangement.

What is the Education Level of the Governing Body members?
by Wild_Thing ini would love to compile a list of the education obtained by the governing body members both past and present.
can anyone provide any information to get me started?.
it still amazes me they think they can translate ancient languages with an 8th grade education.

I think they attended the world renowned Harvard educated theocratic ministry school ,delusions of education because they all became teachers in their minds, they are professors of JW dogma.

The 1914 doctrine: How long it will last?
by opusdei1972 inone hundred years have passed and the society still supports this lie, which of course, is the basis of their other lies, like that of the unfaithful and not discreet slave appointed in 1919. however, i wonder, what will happen after 50 years, when the overlapped generation will pass?.
and if you want, what will happen with this religion in 2100?, could it survive with the same lie??
?.

GB would make it disappear if they could, but 1914 is the bottom card in the castle. They can't do a George Orwellian because they printed it too many times. It will continue to haunt the prophet makers at Brooklyn. Denial of 1914 would kill the spin doctors at the bethel media department.

Why is it so hurtful to be shunned? Why object to it?
by stuckinarut2 init seems like many feel hurt or saddened by the practice of shunning by witnesses.. yes, when ones who we were close to, perhaps family or ones we thought were close friends choose to follow the warped directions of the society, it may seem hurtful.. but really, our reaction is up to us.
the fact is, these ones have shown that in reality, their love for us was never real or genuine.
no, those relationships were superficial and lacking in substance.

The worst thing you can do to someone is takeaway their pride ,which is often their family who they love and have life experiences with, take that from a man can be equivalent to a prisoner non association with family. First and foremost it's non scriptual and secondly it's satanic to say a baptised child can't change religion without having to chose family association.
