  Im Writing An Ex-JW Self Help Book

  we all know waking up from the cult and trying to leave is a very scary and life changing experience.

  for many it's traumatic and few find the transition easy.

  we have to deal with families cutting us off entirely or keeping us at arms length at best, lies being told about us by the organization, ex members gossiping about us and finding ourselves in a world very different from what we're prepared for.. for this reason, i've decided to start writing a self-help book informing jws of what to expect when they leave the org.

  For normal people l could say “you will make your mum proud” but I think your mum might include this book in her annual book burning. Wide Awake is good . Watchtower Repair Manual , Surviving Satan , When Love Runs dry , Lost 200 friends am I bad ? Black Sheep torch , The healing hangover,

  i cant wish you fame or fortune writing this book , but for every dear soul that benefits from reading will create a forever grateful person that you have helped heal and prevented suicide . Your motives are pure , we all wish you well.

  Do jw's have any concept of numbers re: population?

  i was just thinking about how jw's like to brag about having 8 million members world wide and thought i might look up just what those numbers really mean in the big scheme of things.

  back in the day when me & my jw were still discussing anything jw he thought that 8 million people couldn't be wrong.

  i tried to tell him what a minuscule amount that really is to no avail.

  8 million of them 8 billion of us. That’s only one in a thousand who serve god acceptably according to corporate teachings. Brother Jones and sister smith will enjoy the spectacle of ravens eating the local kindergarten kids. Welcome to the new world of capital punishment dished out by princes , who’s main qualifications were selling WT junk mail.

  Younger Witnesses less fanatical or fundamental

  i am a born in jw for over 30 years now and have been in various positions in the organization.

  now i'm guessing most of us recognize that older generations tend to be more fundamental and less reasonable when it comes to their outlook and beliefs.

  i find this to mirror the differences you see outside of the organization as well (older people less tolerant of other religions, newer technology, lgbt, etc.).

  The problem with being in a cult and not taking it seriously is that you don’t see the cracks. It’s the fundamental teachings that ruin family structure.

  i checked the watchtower library and i didn’t find anything on gingerbread man cookies.. .

  I remember in 1988 the state government had a vehicle number plate that celebrated 200 years of colonial rule . Jws thought it was akin to a birthday party . I suppose every car accident that some lost their head is prophetic.

  Boyfriend force me to study the bible or no marriage

  my boyfriend, who is a disfellowshipped jehova's witness, asks me to study the bible for 3 months or he won't marry me (i'm a muslim woman).

  he loves me and really wants to marry me but he is doing a passive blackmailing: if i don't study for 3 months, 1 time per week, in my home country, and without him, there will be no marriage... as a muslim, i believe the bible is god's word so i look at the bible from time to time and would be happy to study with him.

  but the fact that he is kind of saying "study the bible or bye bye no marriage" is really hurtful.

  Tell him by studying bible you will be an apostate in your family’s eyes. Ask can he relate to that . Jws are the taliban of Christianity run lady run.

  this is especially true of the elders who are taking the lead.

  These men can sit on a young (10-17 yo ) sisters judicial committee and demand answers to perverted questions and they somehow have deluded themselves into believing this is gods will. Taliban work on exactly same script. As to double honour 2 x 0 = the amount of respect they deserve.
