I think they have to make some serious changes if they really care about their numbers. The cult is loosing members something like 200,000 per year if their numbers are close to correct which I think their not. They need to become more like the nieghborhood Christian Church that’s all about socializing and doing group activities etc.

They can’t get people to john if they have to go preach every weekend, they can’t retain members if they continue to try and control people’s lives so much. They need to drop the blood doctrine, reduce disfellowshipping , stop shunning those that just don’t believe or don’t go. Stop with the private and public reprove and just go to a counsel based idea. If they became a kinder and gentler cult people will stick around for their friends and belief in god but at their current rate of doctrines and practices their loosing members and will become a dead cult !

It could happen, I hear that over in China because of the ban JWs only have to leave their homes with the intent to preach and they can count their hours. Maybe they’ll do something like this also stopping mandatory preaching they think may keep many from leaving.

(before you read anything i was born into this religion and am just counting down the days until i can leave) so i made one other post before because i signed up thinking that this was just a one time venting thing for me and everyone that replied on my last post was super helpful and i thank you if you’re reading this one but shit.

i’ve never released this much emotion especially to strangers, not even with my own parents and with you guys i feel like i can say anything about how i feel and it’s all good because you all feel the same as i do.

but anyway i just got into some shit with my mom and step dad.

I was a very good athlete when I was young but was denied the ability to play in school. If I had played maybe I would of been able to get into college. I really enjoyed sports especially football. If I had it to do over again i would of found away of playing sports even if it ment running away from home. One needs to follow their passions . We only live once , make it happen for yourself if you really love it! All the things I was good at was denied to me because of this cult, don’t let them do it to you!

they say there is another more high profile person who also got busted.. does this stuff upset you that some men have gone into a massage parlor for possibly more than a massage?

Flat Earth and Jw. Not possible?

im a jw and in the last three years i have studied a lot the topic of the earth being flat.

i have a good scientific background so im not stupid or crazy.

There’s tons of people that have been convinced the earth is flat by people on YouTube and the Bible. I willing to bet if the GB started teaching it most JWs would fall inline and believe themselves.

Disfellowshipped & Returning

i am disfellowshipped and have been going back for well over a year now but because its not my 1st time it will be a bit longer before i will write my letter, would really love to find others in my area who are in the same situation as some many know its very isolating, not mixing with worldly people and not being allowed to be with family and friends can take its toll on a person, just wondering if there is anyone in perth wa that would like to get together for a coffee, movie ect .

I would associate with worldly people and just not tell the elders. They act like your supposed to be just like in solitary confinement yet your not. JWs are crazy.
