So.. is this a way to try and suppress another uptick in the partaking numbers?

warped logic from the memorial talk
by why144000 inspeaker said we should not partake because when jesus arrives he will take the remnat to heaven and the memorial will be no more.
just as we will not partake then (because the memorial will not exist) it is only logical that we will not partake now.
warped logic at its finest!.

Oh and Gary, great thread on page 1... I'm just going to have to copy and paste some comments from it for presentation. It's in the private discussions so I don't think he can get to it.
BTW, your comments/suggestions are being read. Please, if there are any more pieces of advice, please post them. :)

Okay all... as of now, he's still proceeding with this for this weekend. I'm sick. I know I have to forgive the elders for they are hoodwinked too. Knowing they'll be applying Watchtower Pharasaical law as opposed to logic and reason, is making my stomach turn.
Matthew 9:13 where Christ reminds the Pharisees of Micah 6:8 keeps running through my mind.

Not a jw. I have a jws eyelid open. They are hoping an elder can answer the questions I've posed. Im trying to stop them!
About 6 different major topics!
Once i get enough responses, I will force them to this thread.

Need more experiences.
Also, how many of you would advise cancelling scheduled appointments?

This is for people who have been exposed to historical truths of the WTS. The WT material's answers (or lack thereof) may be really bothering them so they should know what chain of events could happen before discussions with their elders.
Please help me.

My husband MISSED the meeting today! AGAIN!!!
by Julia Orwell inyep, i was comparing the nwt with the greek, which, incidentally uses words like 'grace' and 'spirit' instead of 'undeserved kindness' and 'gifts of the spirit'.
i pointed out these mistranslations to my dear husband.. then i showed him 2 tim 2:5-6 in the nwt and the original greek (strong's, westcott and hort) as well, where it says jesus became mediator for all and showed him in the wt where it says jesus is only mediator for 144 000. i also showed him an instance in the wt where it raves on about hating 'apostates' and others, then showed him matthew 5:44 "however i say to you: continue to love your enemies and to pray for those persecuting you.".
i didn't have to say anything 'apostate'; just show him the contrasting texts.. then i showed him the "shepherd" book where it says one can get dfd for "deliberately spreading teachings contraryto bible truth as taught by jebovah's witnesses" (ibid, pg 65) and told him that i've deliberately told him something different to the wt teaching therefore in the elders' eyes, i can be dfd.

False prophets or simply wrong expectations?
by leaving_quietly inin a talk i heard recently, the brother was talking about how jws had certain expectations about the end, acknowledging 1914, 1925, surely before 1935 and 1975, then we learned that it's not in our jurisdiction to know jehovah's timetable.
then he said, some say that because we made those mistakes, some say jws are false prophets.
he said that was "simplistic thinking".

My friend told me that there had been no false prophecy for the WTS never claimed to be prophets. I showed him otherwise in the April 1, 1972 WT article.
He then fell back on "they made a bad prediction."
I asked him to show me the difference between a "false prophet" and a "bad predictor" using his Bible.
I have yet to hear an answer from him.
