Makes me so proud.
My wife must have placed at least 200 of those invitations and I must have thrown away about 50. It was hard trying to keep up with her.
OMG, you're hilarious! First laugh of the day.... Thanks!!!
i just looked at the september issue of the km and they are proud to admit that the attendance in the united states for the memorial, on march 26, was 2,504,114 for 2013. that is about 2,000 more than last year.
looks like things are slowing down rapidly.
i know that there was not a big increase last year from the year before and it was speculated that it was becuase it was on a weekday.

i have been lurking here for a couple of years.
my hubby (inactive & some doubts) and i were just married and i'll be going to his place to meet his family (pretty much dubs).
they seem to be friendly and excited to meet me, and i kind of had agreed to attend the kingdumb hall meeting once (in my life time, yep, that's the agreement) and also meeting an elder who brain-washed my hubby during his teen.
Ah, welcome to my world, UBM101!!!! In our sisterhood...
If you're in love with him? I'll totally support your decision.
If you are angry with him? I'll totally support your feelings.
If you divorce him for irreconcilable differences? I'll totally support your decision.
If you decide to go homicidal... I'll uh... pm you for your phone number after I buy my prepaid using cash and a fake name... okay? *ahem*
Being a non-jw, you know what a "normal" family looks like. We love each other, we disagree, we fuss, then we meet again for the next holiday! In this JW world, problems are whispered, disagreements are contained, but the fractures are deep. The warmth... you'll want it to feel sincere but please do not get your wants mixed up with reality.
There seems to be a political hierarchal order that you have to mind so be an observer until you figure out who is who. Know that there are some that he may be intimidated by... If I hadn't seen it with my own eyes, I'd have called it a lie but look for "adjustments" in his personality when he talks with the other men. You'll know who he is required to honor for some will be given more reverence than others. OH, and the language... there may be a language change. I don't want to turn stomachs, but I know my bf is entering another personality zone when I hear the word "appreciate" a little too much. If your husband doesn't sound like he typically does with you, he may be entering a different personality. It's not comfortable... suck it up - it'll pass. JGnat has years of experience with calmly pulling her husband back into a natural state. It may be necessary... may not be. I guess it depends on where his head is.
On discussions with respect to religion, I define myself to them as denominationally unaffiliated. My intentions were to remove the liability of a defined faith. The unintended result was that I have become a religious Switzerland. If I had any recommendation for you in this regard? I'd say claim faith but not a denomination and bail from the conversation. They train every week for these discussions - you don't.
I don't know how many churches you have been to, but I'm sure the focus was on God - not on faith-bashing other denominations. UBM, at their services?... they are told that ALL other Christian denominations are led by Satan and that the adherents are not true Christians - EVERY SINGLE SERVICE. As an outsider and observer, I'd say more than 75% of their time at the service is spent discussing everyone else's wrongness and the rightness of the adherents of the WTS. They will smile nicely if you speak of your faith but you will see the glazed smile. They are not listening.
Okay, gotta get some sleep, but a sincere welcome to THIS family and congratulations!
We await the findings. :)
i remember when i was a "devout" jws i could not wait to get the new watchtowers and awakes from the wednesday nite theocratic ministry school.
i would actually salivate thinking of the new information jehovah had in the magazines for us.
i was "franatical" and i would go home still in my three piece suit and devour the magazines that very nite.
I love her insight! It's helpful for the non-jw who doesn't have access to the materials.

as a non-jw discussing "the only true" christianity with jws, i brought up romans 14 for obvious reasons.
after reviewing the chapter as a whole and asking appropriate questions, i went back up to verse 11 and sincerely asked, .
"by the way, how are comparative verses like romans 14:11, isaiah 45:23 and phillippians 2:9-11 interpreted in your faith with the same language being attributed to the father in the ot and jesus in the nt?
The Watchtower argument is more geared towards defeating Modalism, not the Trinity.
Listening to my friends attempt to discredit concepts that they completely misunderstand makes me cringe. I recently got the challenge question ..."if Jesus is God, how could He have been here on Earth?" It appears that leveraging the name "Jehovah" has made "God" an individual unit. My friends don't get that the term "God" is used interchangeably as a noun (Father) and a description of a nature.
Hi, Crazyguy,
Given your writings, you may be able to help me.
It makes sense to me that Jah was the [man] before Jesus, then when Jesus came Jah gave the whole mess to his son.
According to that which you know, when was this power transferred? And how do we make this fit with John 1:1-3?
Let me know... :)
i was an elder until march 2012 until i resigned.
i then stopped going to meetings in october 2012 and have enjoyed 9 months of freedom that i have found to be jouful!
i loved learning ttatt and sites like this and jwfacts.com have been excellent.. i told the elders that i needed a break and that they should not contact me unless it was a social visit and true to their word they have done that.
Shouldn't these scenerios be where the WTS savvy non jws could really help?
since the anointed class used to be the faithful and discreet slave, i wondered if and how they can be disciplined through being disfellowshiped?
aren't they given a little more latitude in how they interpret scriptures and in what they say?
do people in kingdom halls who have anointed members defer to them in any way?
How do I ask this... (I think I'm about to look like an idiot)
So, if a person partakes, is salvation a hit/miss thing? Like, if they shouldn't have, do they then lose salvation in its entirety? or, would they get demoted to the Earthly Paradise on Judgement Day?
recently, we were challenged when we told someone that the wt itself says that it is not inspired, and we then were asked is that something you recently started to believe?.
how many people just forget what the wt has said?
well, read it and weep.. .
Just sickens me...
