A couple of years ago in a conversation with a "pioneer", I talked about information in their material that I was uncomfortable with. She asked where I got the information and warned that I "must not go to ANY other website other than ..." then she wrote down two or three "WTS approved" sites.

I asked her how I'd know that the information was accurate if I didn't look at the arguments for and against the ideologies. My brain shut down with her first few sentences. All I remember was that I got a 3-5 minute dissertation on Satan who knows the JWs represent the Truth ruling the internet and that, to be safe, I needed to stay away from all other sites. I couldn't believe what I was hearing.

For any non-jw reading this - it's one thing to read about these instances and reason that the stories represent isolated events and people. When you really get what's going on, experiencing events like this will take you to another level of concern for them.

As a non-jw, the first thing I saw was that a woman's face was glowing in the largest picture. Was that your flash maybe? I hope so...

Next thought, why remember a site name when there's Google?

Even funnier now that I think about it - I wouldn't even try to remember that site name. I would type in "Jehovah's Witnesses beliefs" in Google and that would ONLY be after I had a conversation with another non-jw who revealed the cult-like beliefs.

I can't believe they're encouraging people who are not beholden to their GB to go to the internet. We're an unruly bunch... *giggling*

i have an oppertuinity to try ttatt on an elders wife who is a pioneer who showed up today.

she is willing to meet me one on one to discuss how pedofiles are protected, the blood issue, the flip flpos, how they teach theocratical warfare and hate.

i agreed to only use watchtower and awake publications.

...since it evidently was not confirmed in advance that the agm was going to be exclusively about releasing the rnwt.. i mean, we all kinda sorta expected it, but no one had a "smoking gun", as it were, officially confirming it.. in contrast, there was the leak, posted on this forum, of the july 15 2013 watchtower, a week or 2 before its official posting on jw.org.. .

i'm sure the rnwt was a well-guarded secret - on the other hand, there has been a rnwt translation committee in existence for 5+ years.

absolutely no one in the "apostate community" even hinted at this committee's existence.

As a non jw I'd have quite a few questions for the next jw I met if I read something like, "just wait until all non jws realize they worship the harlot of Babylon with THIS version! Maybe those who attend churches will finally realize they're being led by Satan and join the only true religion! "

Those types of comments capture the true essence of the organization.

i attended the agm and god, it's as if they are trying to entettain the audience.

it is like they don't even have a regard to being serious anymore, which makes me sick.

how am i supposed to focus on what you're really trying to say if all most everything you do say is feignly amusing.

I just had a JW friend tell me that they got to see the gb. Their opinion?

"They seem so nice. We were all very excited to hear from them."

I wonder if my friends can name all eight of them.
