I'm not going with the GB needing a transplant, nor the "hey, this seems to be working" line..
My vote is: someone who had a ton of money and was donating to the WT needed a transplant.
from 1967 to early 1980, the watchtower stated that organ transplants were tantamount to "cannibalism.
" then, suddenly, the position was changed to organ transplants being a "conscience matter.
" so, my question, why the change?

so, i visited the kh with friends so i could have, in my possession, the watchtower study edition of the year.. and the kind gentleman at the counter handed me... a darn photocopy!!!!!.
maybe this is the norm... did this happen in other kingdom halls?.

so, as a non-jw, one of the queries i leverage after taking them to realities within their literature is, "why do the 'worldlies' know this stuff about your religion and you don't?
why didn't they explain the evolution of your doctrines?
" ...and "who really is the faithful and discreet slave and how is the information transmitted again?

I was really able to capitalize on "seems to me like they make a statement (Truth A), then reverse it (Truth B) without anyone calling them on it and requiring that they explain the reversal. How do you cope with that?"
Things were so much easier to show the shadiness of the organization back in the old days (a year ago).
In the last few months, the WTS has:
Allowed access to this secret meeting the first week in October (that wasn't so secret last year and as a result may have "stumbled" a few who caught wind of it before the July, 2013 Watchtower)
Openly revealed that old truths had been "adjusted" to new truths
I'm wondering if this "appearance of transparency" trick is really a preemptive attempt to thwart the attacks of the evil Internet god (clearly ruled by Satan).
They are really screwing up my playbooks.
whenever i talk to jw's, and even in some of the jw official videos, i detect a definite vibe of sadness coming off these people.. i am very sensitive to "atmospheres" and to peoples emotional state, you wouldn't think so, because more often than not i do not react to what i detect, i just let people get on with it.. but i do get this feeling that they are sad, probably because very, very, very deep down they realise that it is all false, maybe ?.
As an outsider, it seems that many I talk to have some semblance of anger just beneath the surface.
Maybe they're just mad at all of my questions.
In private conversations with those I know well, there is a sadness about life challenges they can't seem tof handle.
and paul was not a part of the governing body????
am i hearing this correctly or are these people making things up?.

so, a couple of weekends ago, i, a non-jw, went to my non-jw cousin's house and lo and behold, two witnesses showed up.
amongst the many random topics, the mediatorship of jesus came up.
i stated, "...now, in your faith, jesus is not your mediator, correct?
Problem:
I was thinking about saying...
"My jw friends are telling me that the information you gave me wasn't true. They provided me with an article that said Christ is ONLY the mediator for the 144,000. I now feel misled by you."
SURELY she'd check then, wouldn't she?
That'll make 8 JWs I've spoken to who won't come near me. What do I care that they don't like me? It's not my goal to make friends. I have a social network. It's my goal to get someone... ANYone out of this cult.
I just wish my friends could be included.

Is this publication something they may be carrying?

I'm just thinking that if I ask her to look it up for me and bring me the information that Christ would be my mediator if I became a JW, I'll be avoided like the plague once she found out she "misled" me.
She was adamant about JWs believing that Christ was everyone's mediator.
i came across 3 very long serving regular pioneers today in the street.
they are out preaching full time ever day.
they are at the forefront and spearhead the teaching of jehovah's witnesses on ground level.
LOL.... yeah... I was confused too.
Yes, I know the Bible says that Christ was the mediator for all...
Yes, I know that the WTS says he's only the mediator for the annointed...
Yes, I was trying to bait her so that she'd explain the scripture at 1 Tim 2:5 to my cousins using WTS logic...
And she unknowingly came through Christ to traditional Christendom on me. MAN, was I confused.
She was saying He is the mediator for all men.
It's kinda hard to reverse witness when you gotta teach someone what they're supposed to be believing. *sigh*

So, this woman adamantly believes that Jesus is her mediator. Great... How the heck do I... uh, teach the JW what she's supposed to believe?
It would make sense to have her explain one of the "Jesus is only the mediator for the annointed" articles to me. My experiences have taught me that asking a JW to get back to me is a waste of time so asking her to look up the article may be futile.
If I get the article and say that another JW adherent told me something different and ask her to explain the information that was e-mailed "from something called a Watchtower CD" do you think I have a snowball's chance in hell of her looking at it?
