How much time have you ever spent on Jw.org ?
by Chook ini'm proud to say no greater than ten minutes in my whole life.
and i'm not giving them any more.
i do look at the video posts on here with their latest bullshit but being entertained by these clowns longer than necessary is unproductive..

I never spent too much time on there, spent countless hours on the CD ROM library though.

"Even if this wasn't the truth, I would still stay. This is the best life to live..."
by HereIgo ini was recently told this by a jw family member when trying to get through to them.
does this quote indicate that maybe such ones have considered that the jw's may not have the truth after all?
or is that just my wishful thinking?

No, but seems like a great idea. Nothing wrong with some medical MJ.

Post Convention Euphoria
by Phoebe inthere is a plethora of convention photos on my instagram this morning.
(a lot of my jw friends have forgotten i'm on their followers list) .
smiling faces standing next to convention posters with comments like 'nope, i'm not giving up.

I used to feel the same after a convention. Especially when the brothers would use misleading and emotionally charged phrases toward the end of the day talks such as " friends we will meet again next year, God willing", implying that Armageddon was oh so close. That was almost a decade ago lol. JW's always get hyped after large assemblies filled their robot brains with lies and propaganda.

JW Parents and kicking out their children
by NJ501 inis it a common practice for jw parents to kick their children out of the home, if the child doesn't want to be a jw.
(even though their not disfellowshipped they will still get kicked out for not going to meetings etc.??).
do other religions encourage kicking family members out this as well?

The love from a JW parent is definitely conditional, with the exception of some parents and their personalities. I have known of parents that refuse to cut off contact with their DF or inactive children. Then, of course there are the parents who will shun their kids in a second if they need to. I think it depends on their personality and how brainwashed they are,

Another example of the smothering and high control nature of JW husbands
by stuckinarut2 ini have noticed another popular pattern of behaviour amongst witnesses in recent years.. many, and i mean lots of ones with instagram accounts have closed the wife's account, and have started a "couple's" account instead.
also, for families.
the children's accounts have been closed, and the husband starts a "family account".. it is mainly on the husband's device, and seemingly under his control.

Yes I have seen this type of behavior from JW husbands, sharing social media accounts, email accounts etc. I have also seen it in a couple where someone cheated and there is a trust/insecurity issue.

Do You Ever Think Of ALL The Wasted Time Because You Were a JW?
by minimus inthe longer you are out the more you see how a cult steals all your time, resources and energy.
we wasted so much because we were witnesses!
👎.

oh yes! Thankfully I only invested a solid 5 years and was still in my early 20's when I left. Still though, I wasted the prime of my youth when I could have pursued music, sports etc. Oh well, better late than never

Am I selfish?
by Jules Saturn intonight i had an argument with both my parents.
my parents are aware of my feelings towards the organization, and it saddens them because i am their first born son.
they had high expectations of me, my father dreamt of him and i serving together as elders.

Jules,
I have gone through the same exact situation, I feel your pain. In my opinion, you are not selfish at all and should not feel guilt. They are acting this way because they truly feel that you are heading down the wrong path to destruction and love you, but understand they have been conditioned to believe these things. I understand the frustration of you seeing the truth about the Org and them not wanting to hear it. Stay strong.
