Poor Sisters
by Darryl ini really felt for you sisters i mean i really did.
when you showed up at the sunday meeting and found out the subject of the talk was going to be -and i can't quite remember the exact wording- but something to the effect of marriage and headship, or honoring and obeying your husband, or something like that how many of you wanted to jump right back in your car and head home.
i mean 45 straight minutes of beating down you poor ladies and telling you that you are not worthy of making one decision, taking the lead in anything, don't question the man be obedient and keep quiet.

REBEL8- You've got that right.. One day the org says women are an asset to the congregation, the next day they're saying we're weak and must be submissive.. Definitely true on the menstrual cycles and labor pains, ( I've thought about it, but not like how you worded it) -

Plastic Surgery
by raven inhi everyone- i don't have much of an update on my current situation ( refer to previous posts ) august 1st has past, (the day the judicial committee was supposedly held against me- and that i didn't attend, no word on anything as of now, thankfully i am moving to a new home next week which means no more elders sending me spooky jc invite mail!
anyways, i'm getting off the main reason why i'm posting.. so i have tendency to drift off into thought and have discussions with myself, ( i'm not crazy i swear!
) i was thinking today, have we heard any more updates on appearances?

QUARTERBACK- Too funny about daddy makeover.
SEVAN- Wow, yea I can imagine how irritating it would be to see someone just enjoy a lavish life style especially when you're working your butt off paycheck to paycheck- was this woman in the org? Totally agree with you about pregnancy taking a toll women, I have no problem with surgeries, but just from a JW standpoint you'd think they would continue to be opposed to it ( I found an article on plastic surgery on JW. ORG ) since the end could be "any day now"

BONSAI- I agree with you about not caring, but (for me atleast) it's always kind of interesting to just see how tight laced they are when it comes to what you can and cannot do with your own life choices.

Hi everyone- I don't have much of an update on my current situation ( refer to previous posts ) August 1st has past, (the day the Judicial Committee was supposedly held against me- and that I didn't attend, no word on anything as of now, thankfully I am moving to a new home next week which means no more elders sending me spooky JC invite mail!)
Anyways, I'm getting off the main reason why I'm posting.. So I have tendency to drift off into thought and have discussions with myself, ( I'm not crazy I swear! ) I was thinking today, have we heard any more updates on appearances? I know a year or 2 ago Anthony Morris did that crazy talk on how "SPANX" are too revealing, colorful mens' socks and tight pants are oh so distracting and metro-sexual! I haven't heard anything of recent regarding cosmetic surgery though.. For a good amount of time a while back it was a huge topic of discussion among JW's especially women in the org- Botox, breast implants, tattoos etc.. Has anyone heard anything recently regarding this? I always found it funny that women were getting breast implants, face lifts, or mommy makeovers etc especially since " the end is just around the corner and Jah will make us PERFECT" .. Anyone have opinions on this topic? By no means am I saying I'm opposed to cosmetic surgeries (I had one after exiting the org) - But it just makes me pause and think for a minute especially when women IN the org get these things done assuming tribulation is coming tomorrow.
What are your thoughts?

I have to vent about someone...
by babygirl30 ini'm sorry if this comes across as rude or mean, but i'm sorry - not sorry!
there is a woman that was in my congregation for years.
she was dating a 'worldly' man at the time and ended up df'd.
-
raven
I agree with the others, she must be attempting to prove to herself that this organization isn't a bunch of BS. That's why shes figured "Hey maybe if I get a DF'd person back in then Jehovah's amazing spirit of truth is real."
If I were you and she sends another message, I would probably just stop replying.. There's no sense in talking with ones who firmly believe this is the so called truth, it's like beating a dead horse. ( it kind of sounds like she doubts, but then she stops herself and reverts back to the org being the truth, seemingly to keep herself from realizing its all a scam ) If she believes the org is the real channel through which God rules, then I would tell her to focus on herself.. Especially since she's a second timer with Disfellowshipping... LOL what a joke.

Here's another one
by stillin inthis guy was an elder.
i'm sorry if somebody already posted this.. http://abc7.com/news/former-oc-teacher-charged-w--sexually-assaulting-teen-boy/1458295/.
anybody know him?.

Good for getting authorities involved.. No need for calling him into a Judicial Committee just to get a slap on the wrist, then there would be another case in the ARC for an unreported sex crime against a child.. I bet if you showed this article to any JW they would probably say something along the lines of "He was probably under demon possession!" or "This is apostate material *shuts off computer* Can't let these false accusations disturb my loyalty to Jehovah" Yea right- How about the simple truth that this man is a real sick twisted phony.

Yikes seriously? I completely agree with whats been said. As far as Sam Herd's talk, I do remember him saying something also along the lines of how the women are all the "weaker vessel".
The way the org words these topics is just bizarre. Thank goodness I am out, no more dealing with misogynist elders (at least in my ex hall) eager to hear my sex experiences while calling me in for a Judicial Committee... "Now where did he touch you to be exact, was there any penetration?" * Mind you one of the elders in my JC interrogating me was also the "16 year old punk" - What a bunch of perverts.

Hmm. I'm interested in this now.. Quarterback if this is true keep us posted on the outcome. Just makes me wonder though, a Bethelite on an apostate website, certainly it was Jah's holy spirit that gifted you the highest honor of stepping foot onto precious Bethel grounds!!

Are hot springs and saunas approved by the Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses?
by jwleaks insatan’s snares today.
in the main, satan’s tricks have not changed over the centuries.
in order for christians living in the corrupt city of corinth not to be “overreached by satan,” the apostle paul gave them strong counsel.

Could we use the new shunning guidelines to our advantage?
by Island Man inaccording to new, officially published guidelines, jws can now shun a person who has not been disfellowshipped from the congregation.
i see this guideline being abused by many jws who have an axe to grind with a fellow jw.
for example, let's say sister peinindiass rubs sister sensitive the wrong way.

I have a copy of the guidelines:
Friday Afternoon
Symposium : Loyally Uphold Jehovah’s Judgments
Shun Unrepentant Wrongdoers (NO_15-S.pdf)
Jehovah’s justice benefits us
Jehovah’s law given to Moses protected God’s people physically and spiritually from bad or evil influences.
The Israelites’ loyalty was put to the test by some of these laws (Dt 13:1 -11)
Since the first century Jehovah has commanded us not to seek friendship or fellowship from unrepentant ones [Read 1 Cor 5:11 -13]
Disfellowshipping is a beneficial measure even though some from this permissive world consider it an excessive/cruel/radical (W15 4/15 29-31) *** (no scripture reference here! ) ***
It helps keep Jehovah’s and his organization’s name clean. It protects us from bad associations, which includes messages from apostates or other opposers that are used to spread harmful ideas. (2Jn, 10, 11)
Disfellowshipping can help a sinner to return to Jehovah.
Loyal Christians should not associate with anyone “called a brother” and yet practices grave sin.
We have to do so even with unrepentant ones that have not been dealt by the congregation, like in the case of inactive ones.
It can be an especially tough test of our loyalty when the unrepentant sinner is a family member. We shouldn’t allow family ties to threaten our loyalty to Jehovah and his organization (w13, 1/15 15, 16 Paragraphs 16 – 20).
The following video will see how loyalty reaps benefits..
<video>
Jehovah understands the pain cause by the loss of a loved one.
Jehovah’s reaction to the rebellion of the people of Isreal helps us understand how he felt when some of his spiritual children joined Satan’s rebellion (Sl 78:40, 41; w07 1/15 17, 18)
Jehovah does not let his emotions get the better of him. He punished the Israelites severely (Sl 78:60-62)
He also took measures against rebels in the spirit realm so he could protect the rest of his heavenly family (Jud 6; Rev 12:7-9)
Respect Jehovah’s discipline
Disfellowshipping can be a painful measure, but those that accept it are seen as righteous once again by God [Read Heb 12:11) (W12 4/15 12 paragraph 16)
Let’s not let Jehovah’s discipline lose it power or effectiveness.
But,what should we do if a sinner repents and changes his ways?
Brother _____ will give the final talk in this Symposium ‘Loyally uphold Jehovah’s Judgements’ called ‘Be Forgiving’Hope this helps..
