(1984), the book that convinced me to get baptized at age 12.. i'm not going to review the entire book here.. because matthew 28:18-20 specifies baptizing as part of the great commission, and because hebrews 6:1-2 lists the teaching on baptisms as among the primary doctrine about the christ, i intend to focus on the portion of the new publication that deals with baptism.. in chapter 16, on pages 178 and 179, paragraph 17 states:.
17 to survive the coming destruction, individuals need to prove their faith now.

A. Acts 2:38; 3:19 - Peter said to them: “Repent, and let each one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for forgiveness of your sins, . . .
“Repent, therefore, and turn around so as to get your sins blotted out, . . .
Repentance has absolutely nothing to do with the J.W. dogma of "dedication."

Just a P.S. to my criticism of what the "activist" did:
Every J.W. who goes out knocking on doors on Christmas day are actively & deliberately disrupting the lives of people who are celebrating a holiday which J.W.'s openly condemn.
J.W.'s who do so should be ashamed!
J.W.'s are confident that people will not want to show any animosity to them on Xmas Day.
Even my devout J.W. mother used to say, "Leave them alone - it's their one special day of the year."

by john.prestor inso i went to the memorial the other night, there's a kingdom hall on the bus route back from a local college where i was doing some research and admiring the architecture.
i'm in my street clothes, i look nice but i stood out like a sore thumb.
i went in as it started and got a seat in the back.
