About 20 years ago when I was a young man, I spent a summer in Tokyo. We would go to the bars in middle of the city, have a few too many and cab it back to the outskirts where we are staying.
The music ( sometimes-my bloody valentine ) and the cinematography really encapsulate how awesome the noise and neon of downtown Tokyo at night.
a few weeks later, the witness that i speak, family and friends are very happy with the recent changes .. no one mentions the df aproach change, fieldservice report and free entrance to the paradise for non jw.. only the clothing style and beard are mentioned.. the sisters are all in a halaluja happy modes.
they are feeling being respected and heard by the lovely leadership.. one brother told me he will never grow a beard because he lost his elder status in the early 90's because of his beard.
now it's allowed i will not grow a beard he sweared.. it seems jw.org has down a great change job.
Imagine giving up having a career and family and suddenly your special club just becomes “ church”.
Awesome.
I would feel ripped off but that is just me.
no matter what opinions you may have, the memorial is very important to us.
many are opposed to the way the organization performs the memorial because of restrictive rules as to who should partake.
as jesus said in scripture, "keep doing this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me.
There was no big push on this year to get people to attend "the Memorial " or " Memorial season at my wives hall. My wife didn't even go into field service the Saturday before the Sunday.

The Neon and noise of Downtown Tokyo at nigh is pretty crazy. 
He looks like a hipster barista at Starbucks. Did you want some avocado on toast with that seven dollar cup of coffee? Maybe some Mumford and sons tickets?
last night the subject of simony reared its head.
there was a picture (artists impression) of the event resembling a bunch of clean-cut americans in fancy dress busy performing or observing miracles.
in the foreground offering a bribe to join in is simon.
The picture looks a little homoerotic. Kind of like the “ don’t play sports video” .
there's been a lot of discussion about the changes in the org.
you might think all this would shake things up, especially for the older or super dedicated jws.
but remember when gb decided all the khs and the bank accounts needed to be transferred/managed from the top?
I think the Watchtower is just turning into " Church ". People might attend every second week, might just not bother with the mid week meeting. No field service but will attend every social function.
I am sure if that is better of worse.

it refers to the moment when a tv show or other product has reached its peak and starts to decline in quality.
When did they start discouraging people to not have children ? I know that is part of the religion.
Nothing pisses me off more is watching elders who have built nice middle class lives and had families , while encouraging people give everything up.

So
Jesus died for the anointed remnant, who later turn out to be the governing body.
The whole ceremony is basically glorifying these 8 men. Just a friendly reminder , Jesus died for them and them alone but the good news is if you join the right club and work really really hard , Jehovah might not hit you with a flaming piece of rock at the big A. Better commit suicide, if you want to hold a piece on Paradise earth for your do over.
Just the sheer arrogance of it makes my skin crawl.
