I have this friend who travels the world on inherited wealth and is always posting right wing memes and such. Mainly about the transgender issue. Yeah like that is the biggest threat to the planet. He is also always telling people how they need to pull themselves up my there bootstraps and such cause he is such a self made man.

So last week he is in Auschwitz and posting stuff about horrible humans be to one another and how moving it all was. Then he goes back to shitposting about the dangers of Pride/Woke/Homosexuals/Trans. Just a total disconnect to what happens when people are total dickheads.

God, the internet has made people smart.

I was raised as a witness by my mother but my father was never one of them. He was actually a staunch Ronald Reagan type conservative , even though I am Canadian.

What has happened to the conservative movement is just heartbreaking to him. Cheering for the re-creation of the Soviet Union, The dangers of modern medicine. Nothing but a bunch of populist mushheads amplifying a right wing algorithm. The worst part is they all think they are so bloody original.

I think people are voting with the posts and presence when it comes to this board. Too bad, it use to be a wonderful resource for PIMO community.

Careful what you wish for! Regarding Jehovah in the New Testament

ok i'll bite.. let's say for a moment that jehovah's witnesses are right, and that the nt autographs (the originals) contained the tetragrammaton.let's say that the nt writers always wrote "jehovah" in greek (iexoba, as the witnesses spell it currently) when they quoted the hebrew scriptures, whether they quoted from the hebrew version or the septuagint, and jehovah's name appeared on the quote.

let's say that the original septuagint always had iexoba whenever they were referring to jehovah.then we have that the original septuagint said in psalms 101:26-28 the following:"at the beginning it was you, o jehovah, who founded the earth, and the heavens are works of your hands.

they will perish, but you will endure, and they will all become old like a garment.

What a great discussion people. I wish I could write as well as some of you.

The great point I have come to realize is how little anyone in the Borg realizes the complexities of the old testament and the prospective in which the new testament authors are writing or speaking about Jesus Christ. This was the very issue that woke me up.

I am of the opinion that the touchable visible manifestions of god in the old testament were Christ who somehow existed as both god and not god at the same.

Does it make sense ? Not really but that is the story.

In the old testament it says the LORD lead the Israelis out of Egypt, an angel with Name of the Lord and the presence of the LORD lead the Israelis out of Egypt.

The point is it rather ambiguous who LORD is and I believe it is by design.

The idea that the creator stepped into his creation as one of us seems a lot more appealing than god just tortured than Angel to death.

It all goes back into the old testament. There is an invisible omnipotent yahweh and then there is some kind of divine manifestion yahweh who deals directly with humanity. It is all very weird. The two figures become so intertwined you are not sure who is what and what is who.

The new testament is the realization that Jesus is this second yahweh or whatever and the term LORD becomes as ambiguous in the new testament as in the old testament.

I have always thought the whole Jesus though Jehovah idea was kind of weak. It is also very similar to the Trinity which is kind of funny.

Regional Convention Attendance

elder friend of mine texted me asking what my rc attendance was 2 weeks ago (family and i streamed it since wife is not well).

he told me that his rc in the jersey city assembly hall last weekend was low.

co told them that around 2600 were the total from 16+ congs that were assigned.

I was dropping my wife off ( I didn't actually attend ) and I swear every 50 feet one of those parking attendants would basically step in front of my truck. I had to explain to every fucking one of them, I have a beard and a camo jacket, I am not not attending and it is not that hard how to figure out to drive up to the door and get out of this parking lot. Finally told the last one he was more of a nuisance than actually any help.

co told them that around 2600 were the total from 16+ congs that were assigned.

They keep switch the territories around , so my guess is you have no idea if the borg is growing or declining. Our assembly had about 3500 in attendance with a population base of maybe 1.8-2 million people. It use to be one province, 1 million people and 5000 in attendance. Now they are starting to lump provinces together.

Still lots of young families which is something I find really sad. Even since covid , it doesn't surprise me. People want to believe in some against the grain narrative to feel special.

Confirmed: CO Discourages Zoom

i can confirm that the co during one of his service talks stated that zoom is a provision for elderly, infirmed, as well as people who might need it on occasion due to health reasons, otherwise you are expected to be in person at meetings and in the ministry.

this had to come down from the top.

maybe they do not want to put it in a gb update or broadcast since that would be too public i suppose.

I have a know a guy whose wife just died of complications in child birth and she is now all over twitter " Died Suddenly " . What makes it worse she was a nurse so she had to be vaccinated so of course.

I know another family who lost a son to an overdose and he is all over the anti-vaxxer sites.

Fucking opportunistic ghouls, cruising the obits for misery, not giving a shit about the families.
