I too kept receiving error messages when attempting to reply to your post. It took great courage for you to share this nightmare in hopes that it would prevent another child from experiencing this terrifying ordeal. This is a topic that can NEVER be swept under the rug. Children need to be made feel that it's okay to "tell!"

simon i'm sorry i don't mean to rain on your parade but you have to remember the society and your local elders watch for stuff like that.
this is a very liberal board as far as discussions go and forever thankful for that, but you have to be careful because you could face a jd meeting.
i'm sure everyone is well aware that some posts on this board just wouldn't go over to well with the society.

Mesaluna-Interesting first post. My advice is to just walk away. No letter. No explainations. No apologies. Otherwise you will be treated like a leper by those you love and who have no control over their own lives.

It's taken me a long time to shake the feeling of paranoia about being on the internet. No one in my
congregation will admit participating in discussions like this or going to chat rooms. In other words-they all lie about it.lol A few nights
ago I just know I was chatting with a brother from my congregation that has been very vocal about staying away from certain sites. I wanted very much to say, "Hey______! It's me_________! You better be careful about revealing too much about yourself. You never know who might be lurking." He has always been so arrogant that I would like to let him know that I know he was cruising the net for sisters. :)

for anyone who's ever written something of a private nature or asked clarification on certain beliefs have you ever had the unfortunate experience of the elders calling you in the back room or a sheperding call ?.
the reason i bring this out is that newer brothers or sisters don't know that everytime you write the society the society sends a copy of your letter to your local cong.
