RhW, Crohn's disease! That is very difficult to detect and I think it shares so many symptoms with other diseases. It's a wonder with a blood count like you had that you survived-same with me. Jehovah had his hand in it.
Do you still take vitamins? I have too, my immune system is shot. That's wonderful that you've been in remission for such a long time. You certainly are a fighter. I have one or two bad months a year where I just can't get out of bed at all. This past winter I decided I was going to just give up and die. I was tired of it all. Then a young person I chat with that has Cooley's anemia,
which is fatal, offered to trade me illnesses and wanted me to know that my parents would probably destroy all my artwork when I died. lol Hey, that
got me up and moving and I ceased feeling sorry for myself.
You're right Red about a relationship with God being a personal thing. Meetings have nothing to do with it. I've consulted with Jehovah God about blood and he says it's okay and that's good enough
for me. *Hugs* to you sister.

RedhorseWoman, All the way from Skowhegan! LOL You
tease, you! Some of the most deranged and depraved
dates I had were brothers. Naturally I always went
out in groupsbut this naive dub was & is a freak magnet. Once we all went to a movie, then for burgers and back to a brothers house for homemade ice cream. The brother told me during the afternoon that he had a pet monkey he wanted to show me that he kept in his garage. Now before you think I'm making this up and how stupid can I be-I was that stupid and sixteen years old. I screamed so loud that everyone came running and I had to lie and say he jumped out and scared me. LOL What a hideous monkey. Twisted but true tale #2: Several years ago I dated this very charming brother who was an assistant manager at a shoe store. I love shoes-can't have enough of them and he always gave me a discount. We went out to dinner one night then back to my apartment to watch some movies. He had bought me a present-a beautiful pair of black leather stiletto heels. Very nice! How sweet of him. Beeeeeep. Wrong answer! I went into the kitchen to fix us drinks and when I returned to the living room I found him in the process of disrobing. I asked him what the_____he thought he was doing. He said he wanted
me to walk on his back with the heels and then _____ him _____them.!!!!! I have to quote Nancy Kerrigan here and say Why me?LOL They must assume-dumb blonde. I should have ratted them both
out to the elders but instead chalked it up to experience. There are many more strange tales but I'll leave it at that. Red, I hope it wasn't the guy from Skowhegan that you married.

Hey waiting, It is hard for me to talk about myself. I feel much more at home in chat rooms-you
know, one or two sentences here and there. You, Frenchy, Red, and Friend are the kings and queens of this discussion forum thing. In real life, I can talk the testicles off a brass monkey but I feel so inadequate here-something I'm not used to at all. There's a real love/hate relationship going on between me and my parents. I love them-they hate me. Or let's say they want me baptised, out in service and married to an elder.
I take medication everyday and will for the rest of my life. I hope I live long enough to be wise like you.

To All, Many may have a different opinion but plently can be said about putting your faith and trust in Jehovah. Less than ten years ago I was a critically ill young teen. The doctors said I had
a disorder where my body was manufacturing anitbodies that were killing my red blood cells and that they wanted to remove my spleen. Our family had been in the truth for only a few years so looking back this must have been a supreme test for my parents. I truly believed everything that was taught at the time about the use of blood and did not want the surgery.
I put on a brave face for my family and friends during visiting hours but when I was alone, particularly late at night I would shake with fear
and sob. I can't recall many of the friends being
any sort of comfort at all. I did find comfort however in my late-night talks with Jehovah. I can say this here and not have to see you all rolling your eyes but it's true. I would tell him everything-how afraid I was to die and to please help me with that because the promise of paradise earth just wasn't cutting it. As it turned out the
surgery would have been futile and would not have been necessary. They were forced to explore other options and they were successful. I turned my life
over to God and he handed it back to me. What can I say, I was a stupid but thankful kid. I feel I owe him one and that's why I just can't abandon God completely no matter what twisted scripture I've been following the past few years. One thing that's always been in the back of mind is would my parent's have let me die? Yes, I thinks so and that's sick. As an adult I know now thanks to people like you what the real truth is about the use of blood.

...I'm one of those that genuinely enjoys the association with the witnesses.
Hey Frency, Me too. They just don't enjoy associating with me. This is probably due to their thinking that I'm loving the world too much by my choice of
careers. My family thinks along this line too. I don't feel I'm showing a lack of love for God but rather a good witness by being successful. I don't
understand this at all, I'm about as humble as they come. It's a lose-lose situation.
