since a few years, the euro has been introduced in europe.
many countries share the same currency.. would it be a good idea if everyone in north america would use the american dollar just like everyone uses the euro in europe?
would this be financially beneficial, or would this be a first step in canada becoming a part of the us?

i've noticed on more than one occasion comments such as this one made in mattnoel's post this morning within the us/patriotism thread: its also very much the world of america, people dont go outside except to canada and mexico.
could it be that we are the only nation out of the long list of major western countries not to have legally mandated vacation days?

XW- Worth repeating: An individual could travel exclusively in the U.S. in a lifetime and learn about their own country and while they are at it learn about so many other countries and cultures through that since everyone here originated from somewhere else anyway.

Why is that? Could it be that we are the only nation out of the long list of major western countries not to have legally mandated vacation days? I read an article in TIME (I don't recall the issue) where many countries have laws requiring it's workforce to receive a minimum number of vacation days-paid even. Wow!! Then this must mean that citizens of the US had at one time grown up with dreams of traveling beyond their borders to see the wonders of far-off lands and experience other cultures.
I am very fortunate being a business owner to have the freedom to travel where and when I choose and have done so. The vast majority of my countrymen do not have this luxury. Sure they can take the time off without pay and no guarantee that their jobs will be there when they return. How many average working people can get time off in the summer months while their children are out of school and spouse or significant other the same days off? I hadn't given it much thought until recently. Congress should be petitioned to amend the fair labor standards law.
No wonder Europeans and others think we're a bunch of Homer Simpsons with the only ambition being to attend the county fair.

i woke up with my heart racing this morning.
i had an awful dream that i had gone home to visit my parents and that everybody in my former cong came bye to say hi.
in my dream, all the men had on suits and all the women had on floral dresses.
I've always had dreams of flying even before I was born. It's almost as if they were my first memories. When I was a small child I'd fly around my house and yard and to places close to home. There were never any people to wave to so I just glided around before I'd land back in bed :D As grew older the dreams changed a bit. When I flew it was more like me being in the air and everything moving around me. I still dream of flying. I can have those dreams now if I think hard enough about it but I'm usually so tired when I hit the sheets I just fade away. One of my recent flying dreams was great!! It was one of those silver splinters flying in the corner of my eye, warp speed space adventures.
Another reoccuring dream is I'm walking and walking to where I don't know. I just have to travel north. It's always daylight but the sun is so creepy. There are no people in this dream just animals that travel with me until they either die or disappear. This one is depressing and sometimes exciting-getting to cross a waterfall, climbing on glaciers. lol This dream is a lot of work.
All my borg dreams are nightmares involving much physical pain. I don't want to think about them. :(
I have excellent reoccurring dreams of a romantic/sexual nature-absolute epic sex! Probably too many oysters before bed.
It's good to know I'm not the only one with odd dreams. :)
