I can't stop thinking about the little girl standing there while the verdict was being read and hearing those words "not guilty"...wondering what it was she did wrong to make everything turn out the way it did. I hope there is some type of victim witness assistance program( for kids that have to testify) that will follow up and make sure she gets the counseling to get through this. I can't say whether the term system-induced trauma would apply here but it had to be horrible for her to watch Angiuano smirking and being congratulated for being found "innocent." Poor kid.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention.
I would like to read the transcript of this trial. Something doesn't seem quite right. A juror "thinking" they did the right thing just doesn't cut it. My thoughts are with the {{{{{{{12 year old girl}}}}}}}}}. There's nothing worse than thinking that nobody believes you.

by Ravyn ini have always loved perfumes and oils and i have quite a collection that i use as the mood strikes...but i am getting low on many of them and it is time to think about making that birthday gift list sooooooo... what do you wear and what do you like and why?.
my all-time innocent favorite is muguet des bois(lily of the valley)--reminds me of my youth and a cousin who gave it to me as a gift who is passed now.... but i also love the scent of lilac, usually in an oil.. my favorite perfumes are: obsession, rare rubies(avon), coty wild musk, revlon's fire and ice, white shoulders, sand and sable, ck's truth, (and also mesmerize, odyssey, foxfire, jasmine, raining violets, honeysuckle, lemon velvet, hawaiian white ginger--all old classic avon you can only find at flea markets or once a year in the book.).
but i need something new....i like the oriental/spicy blends, but not for all the time.

the hockey game between ottawa and philadelphia is scheduled to start at 7pm, and rogers is not going to be able to restore service until approximately 9pm tonight.
people are being given instructions on how to hook up a piece of speaker wire in order to view the game the "old fashioned way"......

Wednesday, May 7, 2003 (05-07) 09:50 PDT LONDON (AP) -- Rock guitarist Pete Townshend, co-founder of The Who, was cleared Wednesday of possessing pornographic images of children but still was placed on a national register of sex offenders.That registration was part of a formal police caution Townshend received for accessing a Web site containing images of child abuse.
Townshend, 57, was arrested in January on suspicion of making and possessing indecent images of children. The arrest was part of Operation Ore, an FBI-led crackdown on Internet child pornography.
After a four-month investigation, London's Metropolitan Police said Wednesday the rocker "was not in possession of any downloaded child abuse images" but had accessed a site containing such images in 1999.
The musician acknowledged using his credit card to enter a Web site advertising child pornography but said he was doing research for his autobiography. Townshend denied being a pedophile and said he had campaigned against child pornography. The title character in Townshend's rock opera "Tommy" -- a deaf, dumb and blind pinball wizard -- is sexually abused by an uncle, and Townshend said he believed he was sexually abused as a young boy while in the care of his mentally ill grandmother.
On Wednesday, Townshend said he was wrong to access the Web site, but said police accepted he had no "nefarious purpose" in doing so.
"As I made clear at the outset, I accessed the site because of my concerns at the shocking material readily available on the Internet to children as well as adults, and as part of my research toward the campaign I had been putting together since 1995 to counter damage done by all kinds of pornography on the Internet, but especially any involving child abuse," he said in a statement.
Police, however, said it was not a defense "to access these images for research or out of curiosity."
As part of the cautioning procedure, Townshend's fingerprints, photograph and a DNA sample will be taken by police and he will be placed on a national sex offender registry for five years.
Townshend, known for his windmill style of playing guitar and smashing the instrument on stage, was one of The Who's four founding members, along with bassist John Entwistle, singer Roger Daltrey and drummer Keith Moon. Moon died in 1978 and Entwistle died last year, but Townshend and Daltrey continued touring.
The group, founded in London in the early 1960s, was part of the first British rock invasion with the Rolling Stones and The Beatles. Their hits included "My Generation," "I Can See for Miles," "Pinball Wizard" and "Won't Get Fooled Again." The group was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1990.

Take a walk on the WILD side! Excellent summary Gopher! I'm going to be sure and schedule a nap for tomorrow in case of OT but I don't think it's going to be necessary. The wheels have all fallen off the Cloutier wagon.
Marian Gaborik is without a doubt the best player in the league right now. OMG what a sight to behold when he's wheelin' and dealin'. It's mesmerizing! You must know where he's at on the ice at all times. He's the second coming of Mario and the Wild's got him!
