  i once asked my dad why, with all the power the wt insists on having so much control over its adherents' lives, they don't provide information about healthy eating habits or, like the adventists, wilderness training.

  i mean, the gb encourage people to remain poor, and poverty is known to correlate with health outcomes, particularly those that are diet related.

  i'd say most witnesses i knew over the age of 40 were overweight, had high blood pressure, heart problems, gastrointestinal issues, one kind of cancer or another (no doubt a result of eating their feelings if you ask me).

  I can recall sitting with my folks and some of their friends and listening to the conversations. Doom and Gloom, that's all they ever were. Even my mother (another Super-Dub) would say "I cant stand all the gloomy talk all the time".

  Every piece of bad weather, infectious disease, earthquake, change in government, loss of jobs etc would result in the conversations about this wicked old system of things and how it was gonna be cleansed soon (circa 1970's)

  Stomach Ulcers were/are the norm. Try living up to the expectations of this cult and that's what you get.

  "their miserable outlook" is hitting the nail on the head.

  i wouldn't dare bore you with the whole 3.5 hours of their dogma.

  but i have about a half hour of some of the main points.

  of course, i made sure tight pants tony was the main part of it, since he's the one that announced the reductions of the wt & awake and no more year book.. also, i have lett saying that jehovah gave jesus immorality instead of immortality.

  how often did we as witnesses say something like this : "unlike members of false religion, who venerate or worship through statues or idols, we give our focus to jehovah!".

  members of religious groups focus their religious adoration via an image or statue.

  they do this in order to provide some sort of focus to their need to worship.. witnesses give extreme focus on the name "jehovah" .

  Not A Day Goes By Without Me Thinking About Watchtower

  although i consider myself completely "cured" from watchtower brainwashing, guilt tripping and propaganda, i realised today that there's not a day that goes by without me thinking of the cult we left.

  i think of my former family and what i'd like to say to them, what i'd try to explain and how i'd say it without them switching the "ignore" button and running away.. today on my instagram account my little step-brother "liked" a picture i posted.

  i didn't even know he was still on my friends list.
