  How many Witnesses would drink the cool aid at a "Jonestown?"

  so my mum died from mild form of lukemia which can simply be treated with a blood transfusion each month.

  to me this was a watchtower assisted suicide.

  the liaison elder encouraged her to "stay strong" and said a prayer.

  This is one of my biggest fears. I will wake up one day and get a text message (cuz I certainly would not get a phone call) that my whole family is dead. I believe that if the uberdubs were instructed to do something of this nature, many many many people would do it. 😢

  WT Child/Sexual Abuse Cases and etc

  i had this argument with my grandmother and uncles about scandals that the jw's covered up and whatnot, and they won't budge.

  i brought up the australian royal commission and of course they laughed.

  they then said that the governing body has never lost a sexual abuse case but the "person" who did the crime got charged.

  Changing Name from Jehovahs witnesses to governing body followers?

  first off, they are not changing there name.

  but i was thinking this morning that it wouldnt be that far fetched to do so.

  i mean they could use the spin, " we have so much new light and the times are so close, that we need to be obedient to the fds," there have been many changes in the organization so we don't want to be associated with the old name, but again more then ever we need to be obedient" .

  I think if/when watchtower goes bankrupt it would be natural to see splinter groups that have similar but distinct names.

  Id like to share a story

  as i spend more time here, things id forgotten come back, mostly bad and some i plan to share eventually.. but this one is happy, one of a sunday talk by a new elder from nigeria in our hall.

  i remember the intro word for word.

  id like to share it with you.. "brothers, sisters, newly interested ones.

  Love your story! It gave me a flashback!

  we had bookstudy in our house growing up. My superW mom had a Nextel phone and forgot to turn it off.. during bookstudy we hear “chirp” and some guy (I’m still hoping from a wrong number) yelling “f*** you, you son of a b**** f this and f that” my dad who was conducting was mortified! My mom and my sister were scrambling to turn it off. I didn’t appreciate it for what it was worth at the time!!

  uh I do not think he was an incarnation of god.

  I know he has a daughter, shes about my age. I saw a really sad picture of her crying at his funeral. He died of cancer, my dad was just diagnosed with cancer. From that perspective I’m sad for his family.

  Im not defending his politics. I have self admitted I do not have enough information to form an opinion on that topic.
