In the 23rd year the Child will behold a second Sun
The Gardon will flood Nîmes so high
That they will believe Deucalion reborn:
Into the colossus the greater part will flee,
Vesta tomb fire to appear extinguished.
The new bark will take trips,
There and near by they will transfer the Empire:
Beaucaire, Arles will retain the hostages,
Near by, two columns of Porphyry found.

by mysterio91 init's been over a year now since my dad died.
i feel sad about it a lot because i don't believe i will never see him again.

What if it was our fate to be reincarnated over and over again and experience life from every possible point of view? Keep in mind that this would mean you would experience lives as a rock star, King etc. but would also experience being murdered violently or tortured over and over again as well.

We Live in a Fractal???
by frankiespeakin ini was thinking lately about the manderbrolt fractal and other fractals as well.
and how every design of nature is able to be reproduced by fractals.
these pictures of the manderbrolt set,, display a remarkable scale that makes you "feel depth",,, with things getting bigger or smaller.

Interesting. I visualise the opposite. Many people are impressed with the relative order of the universe on a large scale. Imagine speeding up the life of the universe to where the entire 20 billion years or so happened in 3 seconds. It would likely appear as chaotic explosion. We dont see it a such because our lives are so short we are essentially witnessing it in super, super slow motion.

Blockbuster getting rid of late fees - well it's ABOUT TIME!
by TresHappy inblockbuster to do away with late fees associated press
blockbuster, the nation's biggest movie rental company, plans to eliminate late fees on games and movies as of jan. 1. .
blockbuster announced today it will continue to set due dates, with one week for games and two days or one week for movies.

Another thing I HATE about blockbuster is the way they set the due time as 12 NOON instead of 12 MIDNIGHT. Doing that effectively eliminates one days rental
They used to have their movies due at midnight and people complained that they would get hit with late fees for an addititional day if they decided to drop the movie off at 1 am for example. Blockbuster extended it till noon the next day. It was supposed to help people, but people didnt understand it and felt like they were getting cheated out of half a day.

Would you listen to a rumour?
by Simon inremember that article brothers?we have been up and running for less than a week and already have had accusations of apostacy bandied about.please stop and think before you make a serious allegation like this.
imagine the hurt it would cause to a genuine brother if it wasn't true.this doesn't mean that we should let our guard down against those who would try and disrupt things or cause divisions amongst us but i'm sure these poeple would like nothing more than to see us fall out with each other.some of these rumours have been spread by members of other boards or people pretending to be them.just be on your guard to this sort of activity and help us by not passing on unfounded accusations.thank you.

The Night Stalker is still alive on "death row," so I wouldn't go expecting them to actually carry this out anytime soon.

Government Says Terrorists May Use Lasers
31 minutes ago By CURT ANDERSON, Associated Press Writer
WASHINGTON - Terrorists may seek to down aircraft by shining powerful lasers into cockpits to blind pilots during landing approaches, federal officials are warning in a bulletin distributed nationwide.
The memo sent by the FBI ( news - web sites) and the Homeland Security Department says there is evidence that terrorists have explored using lasers as weapons, though there is no specific intelligence indicating al-Qaida or other groups might use lasers in the United States.
"Although lasers are not proven methods of attack like improvised explosive devices and hijackings, terrorist groups overseas have expressed interest in using these devices against human sight," the memo said.
"In certain circumstances, if laser weapons adversely affect the eyesight of both pilot and co-pilot during a non-instrument approach, there is a risk of airliner crash," the agencies said.
In September a pilot for Delta Air Lines reported an eye injury from a laser beam shone into the cockpit during a landing approach in Salt Lake City. The incident occurred about 5 miles from the airport. The plane landed safely.
FBI and other federal officials are investigating. It is not clear if a crime was committed or if the laser was directed into the cockpit by accident.
Steve Luckey, a retired airline pilot who is chairman of the Air Line Pilots Association ( news - web sites )'s national security committee, said pilots are concerned about a recent increase in laser incidents, but do not know what to make of them. He said he has learned of two or three cases in the past 90 days.
"The most recent incidents appear to be aimed at pilots in the vicinity of airports," Luckey said. "A few seem to be intentional, and we're wondering why and what's going on."
Lasers can cause temporary blindness and severely damage the eye by burning the retina. The bulletin notes they are "relatively inexpensive, portable, easy to conceal and readily available on the open market."
Lasers are commonly used in a number of industries and are featured in outdoor light shows. A variety of more powerful military-grade lasers are produced around the world, but there is no evidence that terrorist groups have managed to obtain one, according to federal officials.
The bulletin was sent late last month to law enforcement officials and key government agencies and industries. A copy was obtained Thursday by The Associated Press.
Will we have to pay a reansom one "ten MILLION dollars?"
