The sad thing is that even though it's so cliche when they say "this was the best assembly yet!"...they will be saying that 10,000 times over after this one. Why? Because it appeals to emotion ONLY. ...there is no true studying of the scriptures being done here....just beautiful cinematography to engage you and appeal to emotions. I'm awake and even I cried when I saw the short movie of Ethan and his sons dying etc....it's great film! But where are the biblical references? Do Jw's even care for it anymore?

The last video in the 2016 convention...
by problemaddict 2 in...is an epic triumph is emotional manipulation.
bringing together all of the stories they told thus far and placing them int he "new world" complete with the little boy who was killed in a car accident coming back from the dead.. i have a good friend who is stuck in with family and plays the role.
he said everyone was crying, and the people next to him rated the videos by how many tissues they needed to dry their eyes.

If Jehovah hates magic, why is it ok to go to Magic theme parks such as Disneyland the Magic Kingdom and not be disfellowshipped for it?
by Greybeard inif jehovah hates magic, why is it ok to go to magic theme parks such as disney land the magic kingdom?
i grew up a jw and we all went to disney land and magic mountain.
if jehovah hates magic then why are these places not forbidden?

My JW friend won't go to Tower of Terror in Hollywood studios or Haunted house in Magic Kingdom...that stuff never bothered me. It is hypocritical to go to disney now that I think about it because it's all about Magic but All JW'S go and have a blast! I live in South Florida so I guess maybe it's more common in our congregations.

"Just don't overthink the truth"
by stuckinarut2 inso after almost a year of complete inactivity and non attendance, i ran into a nice brother from the local congregation.. after some nice chit-chat, he says "we really miss you and your family...etc...you were always the kind and supportive one, the approachable and encouraging one in the congregation.
your absence has confused so many".
i thanked him and said "oh no, no individual has stumbled us.

Right, don't think. Do. Just do.
That's what they said to the guy right before bungy jumping off the bridge! So just leap into this cult wholeheartedly, don't think about it, just jump!

Thankful for my babies
by BeautifulMind ini hope everyone is having a good day/night.
so i was just reflecting on how happy i am to have my babies, despite the orgs.
not so subtle requests that married couples not have babies in order to further serve the org.

Hi Beautifulmind! I'm Sanchy's wife.I always knew I was going to have kids even when I was in but I did worry to not wait too long because I didn't want them to be babies during "great tribulation ". I always felt that "having them in this system of things would be better because they will know what life here was like and appreciate the new system of things more and not turn on jehovah after the 1000 year trail". Lol what a load of bs,and how sad now that I think about it how I felt I had to excuse my wanting to have kids. Anyways now that we are out I am so grateful to have them! It has made this process alot easier because our family is already shunning us even though we're not expelled but at the end of the day I have my own little family and they are what make me truly happy to be alive!

Be careful what you wish for (in case you want to wake up your spouse)
by nevaagain ini want to spare you a long post about my background.
because this topic is about something else.a small information is that i knew ttatt before i got married.
but then i somehow pushed it back for quite some time because i didnt want to change my life and it was convenient to instantly meet new people when you move into a new city.couple of years into my marriage and seeing all the changes in the jw my thirst for ttatt resurfaced.

Disposable, I agree with you no need for name calling here....not helpful. Anyways, back to the main issue here.... i think your wife should be thankful you helped her see the ttatt....i know I am! I can now live my life freely! It seems she wants to live it a little too free and that's not ok. What she's doing is not ok and I fear she might be cheating. Everyone reacts in a different way when woken up, and our true colors start to show. No you shouldn't have gotten into a marriage with a jw knowing ttatt because u initially lied to her and that's also not ok.....but I do understand that it can be hard to leave especially when you've been in it all your life and you don't want to loose your loved ones, and it could definitely be convenient when moving to a new city. All that said, you've both made mistakes along the way but don't let her treat u like this. She cannot blame u, she needs to blame the WT. Also, she needs to start acting like a wife or it's you who needs to start throwing around ultimatums!.... Sorry I don't try to be a marriage counselor but I really think she might be cheating. 😞

Why do witnesses feel the need to put JW ORG on all their social media sites?
by stuckinarut2 inhave you all noticed the obsession witnesses have of putting jw.org on all their social media sites like facebook, twitter, instagram etc?.
so many put it in their bio section...like some sort of loud proclamation to other witnesses that they are righteous and spreading the message.. it's also very lazy.
now with no personal effort at all, they can just say jw.org and be "witnessing".

I had it on my instagram acct but recently took it off ☺ it's a way to identify yourself, like a proud stamp or mark..... and have others go to website.

It hurts so much that all my family will be seeing this crap (and other vides in RC 2016)....and I know how bad it's going to hurt them. But the saddest thing is that my husband and I are not even disfellowshipped and they have already taken certain steps to shun us. I have a newborn baby, just turned 3 months yesterday and his grandparents (on my husbands side)have not come to see him ever since they found out I was out too. Needless to say they don't invite us over anymore, we used to get together with the family every weekend. It's really hard dealing with all of this.
As for the parents in video, they kick their daughter out of the house for being a bad example to their other kids? Really? The girl makes a mistake and instead of helping her they kick her out so she can do it some more!

A question for NEWBIES , especially if you would have died for your beliefs , and / or if you have been a long time in the religion .
by smiddy ini`m just curious as to how you came across this site or any other "apostate" site for that matter especially now when the internet on the one hand is so demonized when it comes to the subject of jehovah`s witnesses , except of course for jw.org ,.
was it by accident ?
somebody has mentioned it to you ?

My hubby came to me with all his doubts and I was awakened, not by any apostate site but by examining scipture and realizing it didn't coincide with doctrine. Only after I was convinced this is not truth did I ever get into anything apostate, which my husband also led me to lol

Type / Antitype article discredits many JW teachings
by Sanchy ini was going over the type / antitype articles that were released in last year's watchtower articles and i've just realized how ironic it is those very articles can serve to demolish some of the most fundamental jw teachings.. take for instance the "questions from readers" section of the march 15, 2015 magazine.
after mentioning some "far-fetched" interpretations that others have applied to bible events, they go on to say:.
if such interpretations seem far-fetched, you can understand the dilemma.

Yeah it's crazy how indoctrinated we were when we were in that we didn't see these things, and such is the case of all active jw's out there. I think the WT has us so busy with their meetings and preaching and publications, and parts, and so on that we don't have time to truly study anything. And when we do "study" we just take in everything they say and we fail to see things, like this. This is a biggy....what were they thinking in the writing dept? They are so into their own bs that they don't even realize they have torn down everything they stand for!
