New Here ... Just woke up

hey all, .

this is my first post.

i haven't been out in service or to a meeting in over a month.. i realize now that i've been having serious questions for years and many articles and talks have greatly disturbed me over the years.

So glad your awake. My husband and I just woke up as well. All I can say is there are alot of emotions your going to go through for the next few months, mostly anger...just know you can always vent here. I have my husband to vent to so it helps. i've read many statements on this forum from people who have expressed the sentiment that you don't shove ttatt down the throat of an older person.

it would be too traumatic and its best to let some people, in some situations, simply pass on in the delusion.. its humane.

merciful.. in the initial roar of my awakening, i was unable to cuddle up to that sentiment; preferring, instead, to shove the blood curdling shock of truth down the throat of anyone i could get my grip on... age be dammed.

You did good, sometimes we have to put our pride, beliefs, etc, aside in order to do the right thing. And this is ddefinitely one if those moments.

Lol we both laughed so hard after reading that part of the morning text. It's funny how we're more enthusiastic about reading the text now than we ever did when we were actually in! So much to talk about now when you read between the lines. Anyways, so nice to know they realize everyone sees their hope as sheer nonsense! 😂

noone and nothing can really prepare you for the burning pain you feel when your spouse leaves you after 8 years of marriage.

from one day to another, all your dreams, hopes and plans are shattered.. i still have so many questions which will remain unanswered in eternity.. the thread i made a few weeks ago, is part of this story.

after learning about ttatt my plans involved to wake up my wife as well and exit the truth.

So sorry you are going through this....all I can say is, accept the friendship that the jw's are giving you right now because they really do care. This can actually be your escape as well. Start fading NOW and ppl will just think it's because of your current situation and that you are "weak spiritually ". Don't let this org waste any more of your time! Life goes on and you will move on. You seem like a nice guy, in the future when time has healed your wounds and you r ready to get out there again, try to find a woman who cares about you as much as you care for her. Don't make that mistake again, life's too short.

what sort of reactions have you gotten when talking to other jw when telling them the "truth about the truth"?

its funny ive read some stories on here about how they have become so infuriated by what logic dictates as being true and their own denying of it because it completely screws up their belief and shows how hypocritical it is xd some look like a nuclear reactor about to blow xd.

I love your story....i so wish that this could be our experience some day. We've only been out a couple months so our family is acting awkward around us. Not sure if they r shunning us, honestly I don't think they even know if their shunning us....i guess it's a process for everyone. My hub and and I have only explained ttatt to parents and 1 aunt and 1 sibling, they were all defensive about proving this is the truth with the usual "we're the only ones who preach, don't go to war, don't take blood, etc".

JWs aren't stupid

the title is a bit of click bait.

but here's the alternative title: what stupid beliefs/ideas did you have while an active jw.. i think the majority of jws that don't have obvious mental health issues are not stupid, just un/under-educated.

for example, i now accept evolution as a thing, not a controversy or conjecture.

If that statement they said is true about the "truth being simple" then that is proof that the WT is false because lord knows their run around on everything to try to make it all fit together is NOT simple, in fact it's very complicated....so much so that a regular person reading the Bible could not interpret it the same way.....so therefore false. Just saying. ...

he said everyone was crying, and the people next to him rated the videos by how many tissues they needed to dry their eyes.

The sad thing is that even though it's so cliche when they say "this was the best assembly yet!"...they will be saying that 10,000 times over after this one. Why? Because it appeals to emotion ONLY. ...there is no true studying of the scriptures being done here....just beautiful cinematography to engage you and appeal to emotions. I'm awake and even I cried when I saw the short movie of Ethan and his sons dying etc....it's great film! But where are the biblical references? Do Jw's even care for it anymore?

Scary Dream

That is truly a horrible dream....but from I can tell you are pregnant, correct? U say a baby is on the way. Let me just say I just had my second and with both my pregnancies I had really crazy dreams. It's normal...your hormones are all over the place.

i grew up a jw and we all went to disney land and magic mountain.

if jehovah hates magic then why are these places not forbidden?

My JW friend won't go to Tower of Terror in Hollywood studios or Haunted house in Magic Kingdom...that stuff never bothered me. It is hypocritical to go to disney now that I think about it because it's all about Magic but All JW'S go and have a blast! I live in South Florida so I guess maybe it's more common in our congregations.

so after almost a year of complete inactivity and non attendance, i ran into a nice brother from the local congregation.. after some nice chit-chat, he says "we really miss you and your family...etc...you were always the kind and supportive one, the approachable and encouraging one in the congregation.

your absence has confused so many".

i thanked him and said "oh no, no individual has stumbled us.
