I am relating this one on behalf of my sister.... We were at the Sunday morning meeting and my young non JW cousin who was staying with us at the time attended too. She decided she needed to go to the bathroom so my mother took her. When finished, my mother sent my cousin back to her chair and told her to ask my sister if she needed to go too. So my cousin stood at the back of the hall and yelled out "JANE, DO YOU NEED TO GO TO THE TOILET???" at the top of her lungs.
I think most of the hall would've needed to go after that - they were laughing so hard!!

Moments That Make Your Skin Crawl.
by Englishman ini thought that it might be fun to have a "my most embarrassing moment" competition.
if the thread takes off, first, second and third places will receive a prize guaranteed to be of no monetary value whatsoever!
so, i've had to give a lot of thought to exactly what was my most embarrassing moment as a jw.. was it as a 12 year old child travelling on the london underground, whilst being forced to wear a label that shouted in lurid purple: "gods kingdom rules!

Working Mums
by shalom inas a first time mum i am hoping some of the more experienced mums and dads will reply with their thoughts and advice.... my baby is 4 1/2 months old and i am on maternity leave.
i will be returning to part time work (4 hours per day) in a month.
my boyfriend is being made redundant and is looking for another job but expects to take a pay cut which means i may soon have to resume full time work and my baby will attend a nursery/childcare centre during the day.. so far, all i have heard is negative thoughts and opinions about this from (mostly) family and some friends.

Hi,
As a first time mum I am hoping some of the more experienced mums and dads will reply with their thoughts and advice...

So far, all I have heard is negative thoughts and opinions about this from (mostly) family and some friends. However, none of these people have been in this situation and can give me any evidence that not staying at home with my baby full time is going to be detrimental to him. I want to spend as much time as possible with him but unfortunately, our circumstances just don't allow that. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts...

We are Jehovahs Witnesses.........
by JW72 ini used to like some of the 'kingdom melodies'.
personal favorites were.. 'move ahead, move ahead to maturity...'.
'little gifts from god our children are'-shame they don't get any.. 'life without end at last'-everlasting life with them could wait!!!!.

LOL, my nana (not a JW) used to occasionally attend the memorial with us. She sung sooooo loudly and off key, it was so embarrassing.

The apple of my eye is Liam, four and a half months old. Has just started saying 'mum mum' which makes my heart melt!
Will there be more? Hmmm, well the memories of labour are still a bit too fresh in my mind for me to consider that just yet.

UK Could Copy The Kiwi's.
by Englishman inlike new zealand the uk will shortly hold it's 10 year census.. rumour has it that if 10,000 people say they belong to a certain religion, ie "jedi", then that religion is officially recognised by the state.. is it my devious mind, or do i see an opportunity for a bit of fun here?.
is this the one time that a chain email could be useful?.
and what would get the uk dubs hot under the collar?.

Hi Englishman!
We received that email at Census time. The figures are yet to be released on the number of Jedi's in NZ but my guess is that it will be an officially recognised religion soon...I know people that wrote Jedi on their census form. As for me, I put none of your bloody business or something to that effect!!

Does the Watchtower break up famelies?
by OlderTom inmy word it does.. when i started studying with the witlesses all of my family and inlaws deserted me for following a stupit cult.
my wife divorced me and my children won't talk to me.. that's ok because according to jdubs that proves it's the truth.. as i progressed in "the truth(tm)" all my friends started to abandon me because i was always going to those booring meetings.. when i found someone i liked in "the truth" and started associating with her, some of my witness friends tried to break up the friendship.. ie break up another family before it even starts.. after i married her without getting the elder permission, some of my jdub friends tried to df me, to show how much they loved me.. when they failed to df me some of my witless friends decided to shun me anyway even though the elders pronounced us no guilty.. i should have sued the bastards for slander.
today i'd just give him (the instigator) a good hiding.

Older Tom,
My sister and I stopped attending meetings when our mother was disfellowshipped (even though she was repentant). She spoke to the elders at this time and asked them to give us a sheperding visit to encourage us... seven years later and still nothing. I almost certainly would have continued on as a JW with a bit of encouragement. Now I am grateful that I was left alone.
