An update for y'all......

having been an infrequent visitor at best over the past few weeks, thought i'd write and let you know how i'm doing.. first of all, let me say thank you to all of you who have written to make sure i'm ok.. i was hoping not to develop a pregnancy migraine, but i got it.

i had it for almost a month with eden, and it's going on three weeks now.

i have barely been able to keep up with work.

Hey girl! Glad you're feeling better.

Yes, I did get your message but I was out of town to San Diego for Easter. Sorry I haven't called you back. I wanna get together very soon. I've only got less than 2 weeks left at work & then off on vacation. If we don't get together before (which I hope we do), then definitely after I get back from Costa Rica. I won't be working so I'll have more time to meet whenever and for however long you like.

I'll give you a buzz later!

my name is jim,i have been in a slow but now i feel complete process of removing myself from the chains of mind control.. before i left i was a ministerial servant as well as a regular aux pioneer, i also had book study in my home along with sat.

unfournatley i was raised in the non-truth since i was 8 years old, i refused to get babtized as a youth because even then i felt like things were not like they really should be from a relegion that claims to have love among themselves as well as love for neighbor.. at the age of 16 i started to rebell against the non-truth with the result being that i did not want to be a witness i could not live in my loving witness parent household.

I was deeply moved by your story. You have experienced a lot in your life that many of us could not even imagine. My thoughts are with you as you prepare to come forward with your family. I suggest going to freeminds.org. Under "True Stories" you will find an experience of an elder who helped his family reason and make their own decisions about the org. You will find it very beneficial as you prepare for your initial discussions.

I'm glad you found the forum. I have not been on for a very long time myself, but can already say without a doubt that all of the wonderful people here have helped me so much in my recovery. There are many very knowledgable people here in a variety of subjects......whether it be pyscological, historial, scientific, religious. I am thoroughly enjoying much of the time just sitting back and taking in all of the wisdom of others. I'm sure you will benefit as well.

So welcome, once again! I look forward to your posts and getting to know you!

since you have a family (including two little kids) and a job -- your creating and keeping this site humming is a very generous thing to do.

Rabotnik, just wanted to tell you that I hope your travels are enjoyable. I too will be gone for most of the month of May. But this site and these wonderful people are definitely an addicition! I hope to get back to you all as soon as I can. And whether or not, Rabotnik, you can perticipate like you have once you return, please at least stop by occasionally to say hi.

Goodbye and i want to say thanks

this is my farewell message.

i just want to say thanks to the number of people who i have spoken to and share stories with, i thought i was the only one who left for the reasons i did but i have met many and they have strenghened me in my life course now, basically i had never looked up witnesses before and was thinking about returning to the borg when i found this site, you all made me see that it would be like going backwards.

i feel strong now and will be not returning to this site, mainly as i want to let the past stay in the past, wts is the past and while i keep re-hashing it it will always affect my life.. thanks all.

Wasasis, your suggested reply was excellent! It primarily shows love but also tries to reason with her using her own logic about the organization being God's. Excellent!!!

Silentlambs, my heart continues to go out to you & your wife. I too have lost my best friend, my mother, since being Df'd. It hurts so deeply, it's like a double edge sword...losing both mother & friend. Please relay to your wife that my thoughts are with her!

something my wife said to an active relative a while back made me think that the watchtower really missed an opportunity.

she told him "i don't believe it's the truth, and if it is at ammagedon i'll just be dead.

but, at least i'll have enjoyed my life.".

Thinker, I can totally relate to your wife's feelings. In fact, many of the ex JW's I am close to feel the exact same way. If I am to be punished with death instead of eternal life in paradise....so be it. As a Witness I was taught to believe that the dead are conscious of nothing. There is no hell. We just go back into non-existence. So what really is there to fear? If what the JW's believe indeed turns out to be true, then I will be happy that my family will be rewarded with everlasting life in the new world. Unfortunately they will have to live with the loss of me (of course, they'll use the scripture that says they won't even remember me..how nice). I on the other hand, will not know a damn thing. Does it really make a difference either way?

Perhaps the WT did make a mistake by not subscribing to a hell. But they can't change it now! It's one of the main points they use as a defining doctrine that separates them from the rest of Christendom. So they will have to just let it bite them in the ass when so many don't give in to the fear of dying at Armageddon and leave the org anyway.

Here's my support for your thread, Waiting. (I always love your posts!)

I am 26 years old. (turning 27 next month, ugh!) I was DF'd in January of 1999. I told my story many times, so I'll spare ya today!

All I want to say is that I'm learning to be happier than I've ever been. Still trying to re-record the JW tapes playing in my head, but being very successful at it! I savour the freedom of thought & action I have now. Even as a JW, I tried to be open minded and was never easily offended. Now I'm free to let that part of me really shine through.

I'm thankful for all of the friendships I've developed through this board. I speak to many of you in the chat room, others I greatly enjoy conversing privately with on MSN Messenger (kisses to ISP, Deceit & Bigboi) and I've been fortunate enough to even meet LDH in person (Girl, I miss ya! Let's do lunch next week!) I admire so many of you here! Your experiences I relate to. Your intelligence makes me think. Your loving kindness moves me deeply.
