Could you give a little more background information? I only ask because I'm on the flip side of that situation. I have been seriously thinking about cutting off my parents from seeing my children because I feel that they do more harm to them than good. Which has nothing to do with my mom being a witness.
My parents are very rigid and strict and my kids do not feel comfortable over at their house. It's like they are looking for things to yell at my kids about. And my dad threatened to whip my son and told him that he didn't care what I thought about it.
I just want my parents to be grandparents and leave the disciplining to me. But they won't sit down and discuss what is acceptable and not acceptable discipline with me. So they almost have left me no choice but to cut off or severly limit my association with them.

my proclaimer's book is in storage right now, but i did a post some years ago on a picture in that book.
it's the picture of the dubs sitting down listening to joe rutherford rant and rave at one of the "7 trumpet" assemblies in the 1920's.
if you look at the picture, you will see that all females had their heads covered, and many of the head coverings were what looked like doilies or paper napkins!
They look more like lace head-scarves. Kind of like what the mennonite women wear.

hmmm where do i start...it has been so long since i have thot about it.
i have dropped bits and pieces of my story here and there but i am gonna expand on it i suppose.
my parents became dubs when i was 2 years of age so technically i was not 100 percent born into the "troof" but at 2 who knows any different?

Thanks for sharing your story with us. I'm glad to hear that you found your way in life. I'm sorry that your relationship with your parents is not what you would like. If it's any consolation my relationship with my parents sucks and it doesn't have anything to do with being an ex-jw. My parents are just a big ball of negative energy that brings me down every time I'm around them. So I choose to surround myself with people who bring me up and none of them are relatives.
