Why Jehovahs witnesses have it wrong.
by sleepy in.
it doesnt take much analytical posturing when looking in retrospect at what are increasingly difficult positions of religious conviction, to see that the direction taken by the parties involved in governing the publishers and individuals involved that constitute the quasi religious organisation of jehovahs witness are not in sequence with nor do they in principle touch the cornerstones of contemporary thinking and rational logic.. consequently the reaction to the typical agenda of the said ruling party and its effect to the alienated from membership of that group can be said to inflame the righteous indignation of all who have come into opposition to the obfuscating blanket of self-belief represented by the non elected members of that ruling group.. in plane terms , relying on a self contractually envelope of authoritarian leadership results in a malignant tumour the like of which can not be remove by mechanical nor medicinal methods.. if only the language used to harangue the subjects of so called theocratic conflict was not so guarded in dappled wording and opaque analysis, then and only then could the luminosity of integrity and reality shine dazzlingly.

Would you condone abortion?
by haujobbz intoday i questioned my mother about the fact that she told me ?
yrs ago how she lost 2 kids through a miscarriage but then later told me she aborted them, well i didnt know what to say, but then later questioned her about this i asked her why she did it, she told me that she was already bringing up me and my sister and financialy impossible to look after two more kids, well i didnt agree with that reason or any reason to kill the unborn she then said she wasnt in the truth then "huh what difference does that make".
then she gave an illustration of reasons when you should condone abortion and it goes like this, if you were raped and later found out you were pregnant what would you do she seemed to say she would abort it,i said i wouldnt if that happened to my wife i said i would probably end up having it adopted, after all its better than murder.. how has this affected my familys view on abortion i wonder, well i have 5 sisters and 1 more brother, and already my brother in cold blood made his girlfriend abort hers due to the inconvienience, and also my older sister had hers aborted 2 yrs ago because the father didnt want to know with out a hint of regret,so im now starting to see a pattern in my family, whos to blame them or my mother as a role model.. so to cut a long story short do you think killing an unborn child is murder, would you do it under certain scenarios.

I would like to respond to Silverleaf's comment on page one. It is clearly a woman's personal decision as to whether or not to abort. However, I can't say it is, in all cases, exclusively her decision. My husband's ex-wife became pregnant when they were still married 7 years ago. they were told up front it was a high risk prenancy, and the baby would likely not survive. My husband (then hers), the father, opted to abort early on. She refused. He acquiesed. The baby was born with all of her intestines on the outside of her body, among other things. She surviverd. She lived with a feeding tube and full oxygen for 18 months befoe she finally died. He never even got to pick her up and hold her. Meanwhile, the other two, older children became virtual strangers to their mother, who, rightly so, spent 24 hours a day with baby Annie...many of those hours in hospital. The huge hospital bill, of course, is not a major issue as far as making a decision to abort, but the pain and suffering of Annie, and the family as a whole certainly are. IMO, Dad has ...or should have...a say in the decision. In her depression after the baby died, the mother ran off with some guy who later bacame her boss. The whole family was torn apart, and even though it has been a few years, all are still unsettled by all of this. Dad certainly has a say, don't you think? HbH

Does power corrupt?
by sleepy in.
most of the people i knew as witnesses were nice people with genuine motives.. in fact those with obvious personnallity flaws, would not , in my congregation anyway , be made servants or elders.. but i wonder did the postion attained in the org actually change the people who were chosen?.
does the extra respect , power and aurthority over others cause changes in a person makeup they can not help?.

WHAT'S THE WORSE THING YOU DID AT THE MEETING?
by Mary ini would have to say the worst (aka: funniest) thing i ever did at a meeting was when i sat with the circuit overseer and his wife (many moons ago......) .
anyway, he was really prim and proper and she was of course, a very submissive wife who barely spoke without her husbands permission.
anyway, he goes to the platform and starts off by asking th audience: who was ahab?

Lots of funny things...mostly at the service meeting when I was tired. I remember reading the scripture in Revelation that talked about the angel with the seven bowls....only I said. "bowels."
Another sister got the giggles during a demonstration because she was so nervous. She finally just had to give up and sit down. the brother conducting the part said, "We rare;y come across this in field service." HbH

Okay, I correct the quote as follows: "Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely." -- Lord Acton

"Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely." You may quote me. Hahaha. HbH (And now I must go look that one up to see who should really get credit for saying that).
