Beards in the WT: Africa too
by neat blue dog inas many know, african languages have for decades been given their own alternate cover with black people.
their cover for the 2020 wt#3 also includes a bearded man.
this can not be a coincidence.

That type of localization by the JWs actually makes sense. In France some Americans series are dubbed into French as subtitles will not cut it. Bill Cosby with a French accent, LOL, I know bad example but it was a popular series. -

Hierarchy of Organization
by lostsheep82 inhi, i'm looking for the article published in the 90s i think (i was a teenager) and it showed a diagram of the organizational hierarchy, at the top was jesus, then governing body all the way down to publishers it was in a pyramid style org chart.... can someone point me in the right direction?
additionally, does anyone remember the article or any articles that stated how bad it was that other religions had hierarchy like that?
i remember this being discussed at like a watchtower study or maybe it was a bookstudy.... i am on the hunt for another topic to discuss with my jw parents.

When it suits them, they are like the Catholic Church but when they want to be the only true religion, they are definitely not like the CC.

@simon,
There's little evidence that they have ever enjoyed the same relative level of support that BLM does. There were no mass marches or protest anywhere near the scale of BLM and their activities were targeted by law enforcement as early as 1870
Correct Simon, but there was also no mass media to propagate their message at the time. That said, they still instilled a lot of fear in the hearts of minorities at the time.
According to wikipedia, the 2nd incarnation in the 20s peaked at 85k members but that may have been more of a fraternal setup.
The US population in the 20s was about a third of what you have today. Just in addition to your referenced Wikipedia article you omitted this "At its peak in the mid-1920s, the organization claimed to include about 15% of the nation's eligible population, approximately 4–5 million men."
That is in their "heyday" and the time when they were "peak democrat" (not all democrats were members of the KKK but all KKK members were democrats)
Not all Blacks are Democrats, what is your point?
he entire white community has never defended the KKK anywhere near the same extent.
That is a correct statement and that is why I don't understand why you make the following comment in your previous post.
Depends - do the entire communities defend those criminal gangs and rally round to protect and excuse them, to deny the violence they commit?
For some strange reason it is easy for you to understand that the entire white community did not support the KKK but you cannot fathom the idea that it is the same in the black community when it comes to some of the excess of the BLM. Why?

Brutality
by Anna Marina inwt says jesus became invisibly present in 1914. what a load of old rubbish.
but they are not the only ones.. in 1927 a woman called helen keller wrote a book called my religion.
her book advocates the teachings of emanuel swedenborg who claimed that jesus had already returned.

Brutality can be physical. But if you have suffered at the hands of elders, wouldn't you describe elders as brutal? I think of their cold heartlessness which is capable of smashing tender feelings, crushing justice, destroying friendships and lying.
Not all elders are that way. The system in which elders operate can be brutal. Some JW who are not elders can be just as mean spirited.

Neither. I listen to podcasts mainly. I try to expose myself to content that educates me and challenges my mind.
You could have fooled me by your previous comment. You appear to know a lot about black music from your previous comments.
how about BLM take a position against music that glorifies the thug life, and that calls women bitches and hoes

Here's an idea... how about BLM take a position against music that glorifies the thug life, and that calls women bitches and hoes and looks down at men that love their women? Perhaps that would be a good start,
That is a valid point.
That said, you know there is something called "rock music" and "heavy metal"? Have you paid any attention to the lyrics and message or do prefer the beats of gangster rap?

@Quetzal: What solutions are you proposing? You're looking to decriminalize drug offenses, okay, then what, how are you going to do addiction treatment? What other crimes are you looking to overlook to get to equality in outcome?
I will say that you should go back and reread the quote
In the context of public concern that White Americans are turning to heroin, policymakers are calling for reduced sentencing for nonviolent illicit drug offenses and the expansion of access to addiction treatment. At the same time, in Black and Latino communities, many drug-addicted individuals continue to be incarcerated rather than treated for their addiction.
If blacks, whites and latinos are facing the same addiction problems, why not adopt the same solution to deal with the issue?
Why is that so hard to understand?

Depends - do the entire communities defend those criminal gangs and rally round to protect and excuse them, to deny the violence they commit?
For some reason, BLM types always want to do this with black crime even though the victims of those crimes are very often other blacks.
I judge people by why they do and what they support. If people are supporting criminals, whatever their color, then I think they are criminal too.
Using the above logic, would you say that the entire white community defended the KKK during their heyday?

The most dangerous cities in the US are as follows
Detroit 78 percent black
Baltimore 63 percent black
Memphis 66 percent black
Saint Louis 49 percent black
Oakland ca 52 percent black and hispanic
Birmingham Al 64 percent black
Atlanta 55 percent black
Cleavland 55 percent black
You were doing so well when you were only throwing out stats but then you decided to add your own opinion and you lost the plot.
These are just facts. Lets get one thing straight its not the color of someones skin but the rotten nature of their culture. Black culture is rotten to the core in areas where there are large populations. Glorifying beating women and misogyny and gang life and drugs and crime in general.
Remember the statistics you quoted stated only a percentage of black people commit the crimes you mentioned. Your comment about "the nature of their rotten culture" has just shifted away from a percentage to encompassing the whole community.
You have no doubt heard about Cosanostra, the Gambino Family and the likes aka "The Mafia" would you say that the Italian culture is rotten to the core due to the notoriety of the mafia.
Have you heard about Mara Salvatrucha, commonly known as MS-13, does that make the latino culture rotten to the core?
You have heard about the recent Opiod crisis that is impacting more white people than minorities in the US?
Here is a quote that might help you understand that this is not a lefty issue
In the context of public concern that White Americans are turning to heroin, policymakers are calling for reduced sentencing for nonviolent illicit drug offenses and the expansion of access to addiction treatment. At the same time, in Black and Latino communities, many drug-addicted individuals continue to be incarcerated rather than treated for their addiction. Yet racially stratified responses to heroin use are ultimately harmful to all Americans, including Whites. For instance, the US opioid crisis of the 1970s that was centered in communities of color led to harsher penalties and criminalization. If we had invested in harm reduction programs and increased the availability and quality of addiction treatment then, we would have been better positioned to reduce the toll of the current opioid crisis.
