Many members of Jehovahs Witnesses avoid a personal religous "crisis " (disillusionment) by sacrificing friends who take personal responsibility and stand up to the WTBTS. Such members deserve to have a severe "awakening" and only a "nod" when it finally happens to them. If they storm with "importunings" perhaps they can be trusted again!

Yes.... One of the most illuminating aspects of the WTBTS is the fact that Business Interests have always caused them to rationalize and compromise their stated principles! Members simply do not know how " business " decisions guide their " worship". They are not guided by " Holy Spirit " but by the Spirit of Capitalism!

The safer they (silent lambs) feel the more they will speak out. The soil has been well cultivated by Bill, Barbara and the Pandelos. Bill's direction is on target! Keep publicizing the reality and the WTBTS will be overwhelmed by the "silent lambs " in their midst. Who could have imagined the way this would all work out. Just a few months ago it was thought that the issue of childe abuse in Jehovah"s Witnesses would be inundated and overshadowed by the expose of the Catholic Church. The media seems to recognize that the problem is epedemic and the public is poised to listen. The WTBTS has tried to over ride their arrogant image of the 40's, 50's, 60's and 70's but there is a large audiance that has not forgotten. Pedophilia in this "Puritanical" self rightous perpetrator of self serving speculation is just what this audience has been waiting for. "Unrightousness" in the midst of the self proclaimed "Holy Ones ". If their understanding of prophecy is true, they have the most to fear !

What comes through is the convenience of avoiding personal responsibility. It is no wonder that this person remains one of Jehovah's Witnesses because that is what the WTBTS offers them in exchange for their assets. The illusion of freedom from personal accountability. From my experience, when a Witness begins to take responsibility for what they think, say and do, from that point on their problems multiply within the "Organization".

Well today is the day that I leave the WTS
by Leander inthis morning i told my wife about my decision to step down as a ms and that i also would'nt be attending any meetings.
she made a few comments that i expected her to make, but strangely enough she was for the most part very silent.
she made it clear that she was against the decision but outside of a few other comments she said very little.

From my experience your biggest problem will be maintaining your wife's respect. Your reactions to her fading respect may jade her love for you and exert pressure on your marriage. So be careful with her. JWs' are mentally unable to trust someone who disregards the "privledge" of a service position. This causes "estrangement" , a withdrawing of the emotions in the relationship. Hopefully, she has enough character to respect your conscience but keep in mind that she has been conditioned and is not in her right mind. Above all do not be angry with her, that will escalate estrangement.

The members of the Judicial Comittee may be establishing liability for themselves, all other local elders and the entire congregation they represent. In the event they disfellowship Barbara Anderson the issue is outside the congregation and the relevent point becomes whether or not Barbara was telling the truth and it was the truth that was disrupting the membership. If she were to sue all of the above parties they would have to prove (1) Her statements about pedophiles were false (2) Her methods of expression were unreasonably disruptive (3) their judicial actions and subsequent "disfelowshipping" were warranted. Barbara, besides seeking to clear her good name would be seeking damages for pain and suffering which would be considerable . Her case is a matter of public record. If the Elders have any sense they will slow down this proceeding and give the situation more thought. They are extremely vulnerable and are putting the entire congregation at risk. Once they disfellowship Barbara, she is in the drivers seat and the issue will be in the civil court system. If they doubt that they can defend the pedophile issue in a court of law , then they should follow their conscience and leave her alone.
