Last year at this time "Shrewed Apostates" side stepped and survived the Elder's question " Do you consider yourself one of Jehovah's Witnesses? " This year no question is asked. If you show no hostility they ask " Can we visit you again in say one year? " Any one else having this experience. I was on their list same as last year but this year ( they caught me in the garden) they did not try to trick me with that question. They seemed in a hurry to get it overwith.

Paradoxal nature of change...
by one_ugly_time ini was just noticing.... i want to spend more time with my children.... so i end up spending less time while i look for a job that will allow me more time.. i want a more consistent daily life so that i can go back to school.... so life because chaos while the schedules/events/activities are rearranged to support this.. i want better, deeper, more fulfilling friendships in my life.... so i end up with no one to turn to momentarily as i cultivate this change.. we want violence to stop in the world.... so we create more violence destroying the perpetrators before that is possible.. that is why i find goal setting and reflection so important for myself.
many times, i get 1/2 through a change and feel like i've taken 10 steps backward and can't figure out what i'm doing wrong... just as often, i'm not doing anything wrong, just forgetting momentarily the burden i placed upon myself or others in order to make the change possible... .
can you think of other changes you have tried to make that seem to take you in the wrong direction?.

Back from the Memorial......Special Announcement at the end....
by ScoobySnax inthe special announcement read at the end was an invite for any interested ones (tm) to ask if they wanted a bible study.....and that a special meeting will be held next sunday in all the congregations worldwide, and an invite was given for all to attend.
i loved going and was good to see all the brothers and sisters again, the po who gave the talk made a bee line for me straight after the closing prayer, straight off the platform (i had to stand as there were no seats) and asked to speak to me, and directed me to the back of the hall, i thought here we go......jc convening shortly......but no he said the wt society in london had contacted him as i'd wrote them asking for the magazines, and he would be happy to drop by and had done, but never found me at home.
so we arranged a date for him to call next week.. the hall was packed, and from my standing point i had plenty of opportunity to have a scan about, despite being horrified that their were brothers there who were betting looking than even me ( in my newly bought outfit!

i've read all the research and quotes online... now i am interested in any personal testimonies.
i have heard a few stories, such as witnesses accruing massive credit card debt in '74 and early '75 and quitting their jobs.

It was June of 1975 and for the first time the Society published ( may have been the July issue etc.) that it doesn't seem likely that October would be the start of the end. The article was devastating to me because I thought they were waiting just like I was waiting. Right up to the Fall of 1975.
I was at a "get together" and asked one of the old timers to walk with me. He was of the "Annointed" and had partaken of the Emblems since he was a young man. He was about 65 years old or older. Anyway, it was June and we walked and talked. I thought he could help me because he was of the "Annointed" and he knew many of the Governing Body. (Knorr had stayed at his home several times) I asked him about the article and told him I was troubled by the fact that the Society had basically not waited but had concluded that it probably will not come in the Fall. He pondered and told me the "Brothers" know what their doing and I should not doubt them. He then asked me if i believed they were the "Chosen" appointed over Christ's belongings. I said I was having some trouble with that because I had studied so much material that I couldn't understand why they spoke things such as ".. it was time for Jehovah to reveal to his people etc." or " Jehovah" revealed this or that to his people", when later the interpretation would change. I said I didn't have a problem with things being changed but why did they have to say "Jehovah" revealed it. I told him it was a form of "sensationalism" to do it that way and that I couldn't help but feel a spirit of arrogance. When I said the word "arrogance" he stopped walking and violently backed up and waved his finger at me , "Satan's got you " Horrified I started crying. "Ooooooh he's got you" and angrily he turned and rushed away, leaving me in tears, weeping. . I never trusted him again . He would give talks at Circuit and District assemblies. I couldn't grasp what was happening, I was so confused. In time I began to understand what was going on and I felt very sorry for everyone.

Just wanted to add that it was at this stadium that I realized how mindless was the Administration. I climbed the ramps to the third level with one child in my arms and another at my side with my wife. We arrived at the top level hot and exhausted only to find a rope between us and hundreds of empty seats. Did I say "rope" ? No it was a rope and ......... a Ministerial Servant. " Sorry but this section is closed " Me: "But wer'e exhausted can't we just sit and rest a while ." NO! THIS SECTION IS CLOSED!" " WE'RE NOT ALLOWED TO LET ANYONE SIT IN THESE SEATS!" Me:" But we will have to go all the way down and we are exhausted!!" Servant " This SECTION IS CLOSED!!" Me ( to myself) "This is unbelievable! Please, someone help me understand what is going on. WHERE IS THE SPIRIT OF REASON AND MERCY?" All that was left for me to do was assault this mindless drone or retreat and go down. I went down with my family. But I could no forget what I saw.

", but decided the war has been won by those who are determined to make known the truth about this organization.. when the internet became available to the public around late 1994, only a few jws/xjws had actually joined; just a tiny fraction of the xjw population.
almost 10 years later, and we have a real information revolution, which was previously unimagined.. with various governments around the world all wanting every school, college and university connected to the internet, not to mention third-world countries to get access to government services and programs, it seemed inevitable that people would see the internet, not just as a tool, but a way of life.. consider when the telephone was invented.

The Idea of God.

suppose no one in history had ever conceived the idea of god.now,rewrite history following that premise.the task daunts and staggers the imagination.
.from the earliest human remains----- religious funeral artifacts-----to the most recent wars in the mideast,religion----belief in a god or gods----has been the mainspring of the whole watch that is human history.. if the idea of god is a fantasy,a human invention,it is the greatest invention of all human history.. there are only two possibilities,"to be or not to be",that is the question.. blueblades

fearnotruth22, yes, from the position that they are all thoughts then they are the same , they are all thoughts. But that is the point. Unless one sees how thought interferes with perception then one cannot get beyond " thinking". One cannot get beyond the process ( thinking) that is obscuring reality. With thought it is impossible to encounter that which has been called "God". Thought is in the way. That's why the religious "scene" is such a circus . Its one thought encountering another. Its endless because the problem is being seen as the solution . Thinking.
