Fearlessly observe your self, how you relate to all things, how your mind operates through thought. Do this honestly without "clinging" to your observations. Let them go but keep observing. This personal investigative process is what is being overlooked and it is the key to understanding what is going on. Draw no conclusions , make no judgements, just observe yourself , your thought , your behavior. You have to be quick to observe each thought but the reward is great. See for yourself.

The style of the WTBTS has become public knowledge thanks to the internet and sites like this one. It would be a mistake to take a soft approach to their trickery and deceit. At best, they make mistakes, as JT pointed out. But , at worst they deceive by design. Deceit is inexcuseable in Religion no matter how successful. They have been found out and, Island , one does not have to be a genius to make a simple notation that keeps current the interpretations of vital life saving prophecy. One can get the impression that, at the WTBTS no one is minding the store but that is naive. Try to point out the impact of such publishing "mistakes" to the WTBTS and you will see that. The task at hand is to become fully armed and show no mercy for "intentional" or unintentional mistakes. That is how the WTBTS treats others and that is how they will be treated. May they keep looking over their shoulder as they reap vengence for the paranoia they have sown among us.

2001 Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society of Pennsylvania. All rights reserved Island, this is at the bottom of Donkey's post above. Perhaps I am wrong here but it seems to support the confusion that the ideas presented are current. While I appreciate the harm that can be done by misinformation, I can also understand why some on this board are suspicious of every "jot and tittle" that comes from the WTBTS. The WTBTS mistakes deceit and cunning for Godly wisdom and it would not hold back from hurting you if you presented yourself to them as honest as you are. With them it is better to err on the side of caution. As a publishing company , or a religious organization ;They cannot be trusted. Everything they do is suspect now. -

Island, it is self evident that reprints of old publications with outdated interpretations of prophecy should be noted and all the more so if the publications have a copyright dated after the prophecy was reinterpreted. The WTBTS is at fault here and we need to ask why ?

Clearly, the more the congregations ignore shunning and disfellowshipping the better it is for the congregations. Why so? Because shunning and the threat of shunning are the WT's "enforcers" of mind control. The operative word is IGNORE. So, while it is hypocritical, in one sense, for the elder's wives etc. to talk disfelowshipped ones, on the other hand it is a step in the right direction.

DubSticks
by Farkel in.....or why they won't let me play at the kingdom halls anymore.
sorry to wreck everyone's lovely christmas eve, but it's time for some brutal torture!
if nothing else, "dubsticks" illustrates how a perfectly normal and often happy person is going along in life minding his or her own business, and then dubs enter into that life and change everything.

The Government & Disfellowshipping
by Mary infrom everything i've read here, the jist seems to be that if you're disfellowshipped, you have little chance of winning a lawsuit against the borg because the government still gives them the right to "shun" members if they see fit.. it occurred to me that perhaps we're ignoring a potential ray of light at the end of the tunnel.
what if we tried to lobby the government into changing this, so that it would be illegal for any religion to shun former members?
it's a long shot maybe, but if it could be shown (maybe on another program like dateline) of how unfair, cruel and inhumane it is to tell people they must shun family members or close friends simply because they don't think the same way as them, then maybe eventually, one day, a law would be passed forbidding shunning in any religion.. it's not just ex-witnesses that would support this: ex-mormons, ex-scientologists, ex-seventh day adventists etc.

Love Without Conditions: Reflections of the Christ Mind
Ferrini, Paul$12.00$5.96It is apparent that Bill Bowen and Silentlambs will not go away. It seems to me that over time, this fact translates to defection within the ranks of Jehovah's Witnesses as they continue to "associate " with this Apostate. In her letter to the Governing Body, Bill's wife correctly states that it is the Body's policies that have caused "divisions". There is no reason to think that these divisions will not continue to fester. Therefore, Bill Bowen's case is now a "Standard" to those of honest heart. I don't think the WTBTS correctly assesed the long term nature of the issue when they high-handedly disfellowshiped him. Child abuse coverups will not go away nor will Silentlambs or the internet. The child abuse issue is not small. By using the "rod" of disfellowshiping on Bill Bowen and Silentlambs the WTBTS has, inadvertantly brought disfellowshiping itself into the limelight. This is a good thing. In my opinion "divisions" will cause that policy to be ignored . The policy is a "dirty bomb". Without it, the WTBTS will be forced to sit at a table and actually answer to its membership.
