  Why go back to the Old Testament?

  why do jws insist on still quoting from the old testament to back up some of their wacky ideas?

  such as on blood, beards, abortion, tattoos, etc.

  surely if the mosaic law code was nailed to the torture stake all of its parts were cancelled.

  i saw in the 80s kids parents get talked to because of the kids having one or pjs with smurfs on them but other than the urban meme where did this come from?

  was there anything printed about it?

  Well I believe if the GB did not actually say anything publicly they did support this kind of thing. Just look at what they did to poor old Spurlock. Done in Arcadia Fl. in the 80s there was a guy who came to meetings but was not really a dubber. He would wear a smurf pin on the back of his suit lapel where he could flip it up to show the hangers on like me. LOL

  Impossible. They are trained to not look at anything critical, and not to listen to people who are not JW supporters. You can't. Its obvious they are wrong but the old saying you can lead a horse to water.

  i have not seen jehovah’s witnesses in my neighborhood for several years now.

  it appears that the cart witnessing has taken over.

  congregations are being consolidated and witnesses are being forced to travel a greater distance than before.the burdens/privileges of elders seem to be ever increasing!.

  I stated to notice this several years ago. When I went to flea markets and out in public squares ect. There they were standing next to the cart talking, playing on the phone or just leave the cart and go shopping or to a coffee shop. I thought this is BS its cheating. LOL

  I just moved out of Florida. Irma chased me out. Done with that crap, No food or water for a month. I would not live in California on a bet. High taxes, government over reach, and oppressive restrictions. Screw California.

  Cheese!

  any cheese lovers out there?

  i just love virtually any kind, from creamy and soft to brittle and sharp, from cottage cheese to the 'moldy' cheeses like gorgonzola.

  i like to try new things, so any suggestions for cheese varieties you have tried?

  I love cheese, but it is full of fat and I have tried to limit it. I try to use FF mozzarella on my pizza or my meatless meat balls for a meat ball sandwich.

  i was very lucky to have be dating somebody who didn’t run and snitch on me when i started having questions and showing him research i did, instead he listened to me, and after a few arguements, he did wake up as well.

  it really didn’t take much to wake him up, and he was more just tired of the crazy witnesses in general.

  and now we are planning on getting married and fading together so that our families can at least enjoy our wedding, that special time in life, before we possibly loose them one day.

  Not everyone has the same reaction to the same things. My wife was raised in the cult as was I. I read posts here, follow people on youtube who make videos of what the cult is doing and watch what the cult says next. I follow the news that relates to the cult. My wife feels they stole enough from our family's and she is happy forgetting them. When she is around her family that are MIPI she is happy to just not talk of it. I don't have an issue with this. Sometimes she gets frustrated when she catches me watching a JW video. I have to remind her it is how I work through it. I am not her and I deal with it different. This makes sense to her and she has become OK with it.
