for the “living as christians” section of the workbook, “are you reaching out?” talk (15 min), the bethelite gave this talk at the meeting.
he totally departed from the subject matter which is the watchtower of september 15, 2014, pages 3-6. he was so far off the reservation, it wasn't funny.
here are a few highlights of what was said: 1) if any brother asked why they haven’t been appointed, and wants to know if there is a problem or condition that exists, that brother is too “presumptuous” and therefore, can’t be used.
You couldn't make this nonsense up ... pathetic.
If the BOE for some reason deems a brother to be lacking in a specific area and needs more time to work / improve on it and therefore is overlooked, how on earth is the brother supposed to know if he isn't allowed to ask?Would be interesting to know what percentage of Elders actually approach brothers who are seen to be 'reaching out' and tell them the reason(s) for not being appointed?
from the daily star sunday 4 september 2016. yorkshire ripper turns to islam: muslim inmates to protect sutcliffe behind bars.
the yorkshire ripper is set to become a muslim after hardline islamists offered to protect him in prison.. http://www.dailystar.co.uk/news/latest-news/543061/yorkshire-ripper-islam-muslim-inmates-protect-sutcliffe-behind-bars.

@ Freddo .... LOL
i still go to the meetings because of my in wife and it came about that the elders knew of my pissed off attitude about the society getting involved in the un.
so the elders said they could help me get over that and wanted to meet with me.
now just to let you know, i have only told my wife and her mom so far about it, that's it.
Here is my thoughts for what it's worth.
Illustration: I like to swim. Down the road is the YMCA who have a leisure centre. I want to join so that I can access their swimming pool - not their church / beliefs - just their swimming pool.
If I did the above, would I be disciplined by the Elders? I think odds on I definitely would. Therefore, is it not hypocritical of the society to join the UN to access their library?
i have not read all the discussions about the recent regional convention where the org is now ramping up the diabolical act of shunning.
i am not sure as to which ‘category’ of persons it now applies.. my wife and i have faded over the past couple of years.
our book-study conductor used to drop by to give us the magazines.
..... Post the RC's in October in my country this will probably cement that situation !
FREE AT LAST ! .... AMANDLA ! ..... Zappa-Esque
EISH!
i just wanted to thank this community for being there during my most difficult period of life.
even if it wasn't a direct interaction, i was reading, and i've taken away a lot over the past year plus.
on september 2 of last year the local congregation announced that my wife and i were no longer jehovah's witnesses because we chose to disassociate.
Hello Dubstepped
I enjoyed reading your post and congratulations on your first anniversary out of the Org. All the best.

@ scratchme1010
Thanks for your post. You are right. I have faded, going on for nearly 3 years and yes, I have no interest in that organisation anymore. I was just curious however, as you say, I should completely let go of it.
Once again, thank you to all for commenting.

Thank you folks for commenting on my post. I was relatively new to this congregation being a member for a little over a year. I never got to know anyone well as I kept very much to myself, same as I did in the previous congregations I associated with.

My wife and I have faded over the past couple of years. Our book-study conductor used to drop by to give us the magazines. From about two to three weeks before the convention up until now we have not heard or seen him and neither from any other JW.
I am not worried about it and neither do I have anything against him. I just like to know if we have possibly been added to the esteemed group of people that is to be shunned.
