i think the single biggest mistake the governing body have made in the last 10 years has to be creating jw broadcasting and putting their gb members on there... on a weekly basis too.. when i was a kid, i had no idea who the governing body were, what their names were or what they looked like.
there was one or two long term pioneers that knew the names of two of them but that was about it.. when i was about 10yo i imagined they looked something like this:.
ahh.... those learned men with a lifetime of bible knowledge just oozing out of their very hearts.

Good point regarding the JW Org website. The Org initially condemned the World Wide Web (WWW) as it could distract one from service, personal study, meetings and field service etc. If that was the case, why the about turn and implement the JW Org website ?

I remember that terrible day as the images were streamed live on TV. All those brave first responders, Fire Brigade, Medics, Police et al rushing to the scene sacrificing their own life in order to help people that are trapped and evacuate from those towers.

it still amazes me they think they can translate ancient languages with an 8th grade education.
IMO, I think there were scholars fluent in the Hebrew and Greek languages that helped with the translation.

I have a nephew (non JW) who is gay. Although I never shunned him I was never close to him either. I am not proud of my behaviour and have a lot of bridge building to do.
today is the day.. i was baptized as one of jehovah's witnesses on march 25th 1989.disfellowshipped for admitted apostasy today, september 10th 2015.. what an amazing story we all share.
how did we get involved with this group and think this was the best way of life?.
i asked my wife to stay home from the meeting tonight and spend the evening with me.she is.... we celebrated our 19th wedding anniversary this past monday.. i must admit, i never saw any of this coming, but it couldn't have come sooner.i'm free of all the fake friendships.

i have recently been disfellowshipped (after being reinstated in march).
i saw a group of jws gathered in the town car park yesterday.
they seemed startled when they recognised my car and talked amongst themselves giving one another a satisfied grin!
My suggestion; move on with your life. They don't care about you so why should you even acknowledge their existence.
Onwards and upwards as they say!

my son turns 9 on monday however we are having his 2nd birthday party today.

What was it like for you to sit in on elders meetings and having to kowtow to, and forced to uphold, the Org’s policies and procedures which you thought were morally and fundamentally wrong. Were you ever in a position at these meetings where you felt 'bullied or ganged up on' by some longer serving elders?
I was never an elder so I’m curious as to what it was like for you behind the scenes.

my neighbor is a physical therapist and told me about the epley maneuver, which i am now researching.. have you ever been through this hell of total incapacitation?.
I suffered with vertigo on one occasion. Definitely not a pleasant experience.
