throughout this process since my wife and i disassociated just over a year ago i've been pretty positive.
focusing on my new life, new friends, having fun, and living a good life.

Halloween ... trick or treat.
I personally know of an experience here in the UK. This individual decided to 'trick' the kids in return.
What this person did was cook some Brussel Sprouts and coated them in chocolate. So when the kids knocked on this person's door, he gave them some sweets and Brussel Sprouts ..... LOL
So why not have a bit of fun too!
so our congregation is full of hardliner elders, 3 of them, who are not gentle, kind or loving.. people have either moved away or quit trying because one elder inparticular was going to drive them crazy with all his rules and nit picking and being righteous over much.
(and he is pissed that he hasn't been accepted to the school.
hmmm, i wonder why!).
Sorry to read of this. Another decent, caring Elder who went out of his way to support the congregants now finds himself in the position of being deleted from the BOE.
My personal opinion; this Elder should walk away. To hell with them all.
so this past week the wife and i have received several phone calls and text messages from our old hall.
we were also invited out to dinner to catch up with some old friends.
an hour before dinner this guys wife messaged my wife and said that she "can't wait for tonight!!

i just dropped my daughter off to her mum at her parents house.
it was 12pm and i knew they meet for feild service there but my ex and i assumed they would still be out knocking on doors.
i pull up in the street and there's quite a few cars parked up and the house was backed with jdubs from my old congregation.

As you say, there is absolutely no reason why you should feel awkward, so let them squirm for their embarrassing behaviour.
i just received the following message from a friend this morning.. barbara.
eloise dupuis, 27 years old, died at the hotel dieu hospital in lévis, quebec, canada, wednesday, october 12th.
she died because of her religious principles.
Tragic. Sincere condolences to her family and friends.
i have just returned from visiting friends and family.
when i was disassociated my parents had contact with me a few months before my dad was diagnosed with cancer.
i was reinstated 20 months after his funeral and then they disfellowshipped me 5 months later as they are convinced i had not changed my life enough to be a jw again.
Really sorry to read of this terrible experience DL2.
As others have already mentioned in this and other discussions; the best thing to do now is for both you and your son to move forward and lead successful and happy lives.

I'm with Saename on this one; the only negative was the guy using his phone whilst the family were enjoying a meal. A quiet word to put the phone away would be all that is needed.
Other than that, what is wrong with watching sports or looking to buy a decent reliable car?
i would like to say i am not in and my wife is a marginal witness at best.
she doesn't say anything bad about the borg or live an amoral lifestyle.
she just doesn't read the bible, or even the tracts anymore and generally has no clue about anything biblical or doctorial related.. i found my wives new card yesterday.
I think appointing yourself in a legal position over a person without consulting immediate family first is really unacceptable .... Steel
