Dutch conventions organized like circuits
by Gorbatchov inhere in holland jw.org is organizing for the first time the yearly conventions like circuits.
the whole summer the new convention hall is used for small group conventions instead of 10.000 seat external halls.. it keeps the money in the organization.
not renting external buildings.. the 29.000 witnesses here are divided now into 2.000 seat audience.. g..

Very interesting Gorby; with smaller attendance the interest will in due time fizzle out. -

Can JWs vote?
by NikL ini finally found the questions from readers i was looking for.. from nov 1, 1999 wt .
it says.... questions from readershow do jehovah’s witnesses view voting?there are clear principles set out in the bible that enable servants of god to take a proper view of this matter.
however, there appears to be no principle against the practice of voting itself.

In JW land only the men can vote , elders vote MS into positions , elders vote for appointment and deletion of elders , the GB vote each resolution needing a 66% pass. They ask publishers to vote for resolution for more money , they just can't vote for a pagan who will give them subsidised health , fix roads ,education or any other thing that they can winge about.
Spot on Chook
... and dont forget that annoited females cant vote either even though they can rule in heaven with JC?, and they have no say in congregation matters or sit on the Governing Body? ...
Smiddy, It's absolutely crazy. Makes no sense at all.

I remember back in the 80's when the JDub's (in the country I lived in at the time) used to slag off Jimmy Swaggart for his 'tele-evangelism'. Here we are in 2017, and the JDubs are doing the same thing with JW TV, videos etc.

Reached a milestone today!
by Bungi Bill intoday represents for me something of a milestone.
after breaking both bones in my lower left leg nearly four months ago, i am now able to walk without the aid of crutches.
also, the orthopedic specialist has cleared me to once more drive a motor vehicle.

I Give Up!
by pale.emperor inim giving up guys.
i've reached the end of my patience and now i finally refuse to waste any more time on part-time witnesses.
i've text all of my active jw family members and told them to delete my number from their phone and never contact me again.

Dealing with Loneliness and Social Anxiety
by NoviceLocs14 inhello, this is my 1st initiated post on this site, so i'm a bit nervous.
i did search for similar topics on this site, but a lot of them have been inactive for several years, so here goes.... a little background, i was pretty much born in "da twoof", baptized at 17, pioneered for about 6 years, was part of the rbc part time, and was even in the foreign language field for the last 3 years i was a jw.
so i pretty much had a pretty active social life within the organization due to being part of all of those things.

Hi Novice.
First of all, welcome to the forum.
Do you enjoy sport activities? If you do, maybe you could join a club or leisure centre. It is a great way to meet other people and enjoy life. You could ask your husband join you in this.
Wishing you all the best.

Deborah Layton - Jonestown Survivor
by Tallon insaw this on the exjw reddit forum - very thought provoking.. "when your own thoughts are forbidden, when your questions are not allowed and our doubts are punished, when contacts with friendships outside of the organisation are censored, we are being abused, for the ends never justify the means.. when our heart aches knowing we have made friendships and secret attachments that will be forever forbidden if we leave, we are in danger.. when we consider staying in a group because we cannot bear the loss, disappointment and sorrow our leaving will cause for ourselves and those we have come to love, we are in a cult .... when family and friends are used as a weapon in order to force us to stay in an organisation, something has gone terribly wrong".. deborah layton.
