  JW Convention Bingo

  came across this on exjw reddit and i cracked up laughing.. for those who are still required to attend the convention for one reason or another here is something that could liven up the day - jw convention bingo.

  Leaked videos - Why?

  thank you to those that have passed on "leaked" videos.

  one point that i have not seen discussed is "why" apostates are getting these videos.. are videos getting out because of a lack of internal controls, or are there more than a few disloyal insiders that are more than happy to pass on inside information.

  or, is there a strategic intent of releasing leaked videos?.

  JWs at the Movies

  so i was watching some of the dramas screened at the be courageous convention, and one caught my eye.. it's the scene where a group of jw teens are watching something deemed as "sinful" at the movie theaters.

  Great post, JoHo.

  I think the videos that are being produced and broadcast at these conventions are becoming more and more ridiculous.

  First the 'Bunker' video, and now a major 'SWAT' team confronting them in a forest.

  Sheer paranoia!

  PS: isn't it ironic that the very imagery they condemn in 'worldly' films such as violence, fear and terror - they now incorporate in their videos.

  my dad died a couple years back (not how you thought this would start, i know).

  he was an elder, and a very emotionally abusive father, well before the point where he ever shunned me.

  he died pretty much penniless, and never would buy life insurance or anything.

  don’t know how i ended up here but no one who understands will listen, or any one who will listen doesn’t understand.

  i grew up in the “truth”, i was baptised at 17 as it was encouraged by the elders.

  i really didn’t understand what i was getting into.

  Excellent advice has been given and use from it what will be most beneficial to your situation.

  NWT 1984 vs NWT 2013

  i recently had a discussion with a jw concerning a change in wording of a scripture - in fact this was my all time favourite scripture, namely, micah 6:8.. my view is that the wtbts have deliberately changed the wording and meaning of the said scripture.

  the other person is of the opinion that that is not the case.

  micah 6:8.

  Micah 6:8

  1984 translation reads; "He has told you, O earthling man, what is good. And what is Jehovah asking back from you but to exercise justice and to love kindness and to be modest in walking with your God."

  2013 translation (Silver Sword) reads; "He has told you, O man, what is good. And what is Jehovah requiring of you? Only to exercise justice, to cherish loyalty, And to walk modesty with your God!
  

  So I'm asking what is your view? Am I right, or is the other person right?
