  NWT - revised 1984 vs revised 2013 versions

  in the latest 2013 revision the footnote of john chapter 8 states; a number of ancient and authoritative manuscripts omit vs 53 (of chapter 7) to chapter 8, vs. 11.. yet the 1984 revision quotes a similar footnote, however the passage of scripture is included in the text, albeit separately at the bottom.

  this passage of scripture is about the scribes and the pharisees who brought a woman that was accused of adultery before jesus to test him on the punishment to be meted out.

  then came his famous reply; let the one of you that is sinless be the first to throw a stone at her.. i just found it interesting that the wtbts would leave this out in the latest revision.

  I just found it interesting that the WTBTS would leave this out in the latest revision. I’m wondering what else has been altered / left out from the previous revision(s).

  I knew of a brother who had been inactive for something in the region of 12 years. He came back and within 3 to 4 years became an elder.

  The big mistake of jw.org property management

  today i read some news story's about the property deals of jw.org in brooklyn.

  they made good money and good connections.. but i'm sure jw.org made a very, very big mistake in brooklyn.

  they did.. they sold and are selling all the property for money.

  Hi Gorby.

  Very interesting topic and thanks for posting.

  Just a guess however; maybe the Org was suffering cash flow problems due to most of the Orgs assets tied up in property and therefore had not enough readily available funds to complete Warwick and for other operating expenses. So one way of correcting the situation was the raid on all the congregations banking accounts, the closing down of some branches, and the selling off of KH's and Brooklyn property.

  She's here and early! 27 weeks 1day.

  so as of july 2nd my wife delivered by c-section our little one pound, three ounce daughter izabella.

  it was a very scary night that started with a decel and turned into multiple decels that greatly concerned the doctors.

  by early morning they felt the need to take her for her safety.

  Kudos to the attending doctors, theatre & nursing staff for making this all possible.

  Should Youths Get Baptized?

  found this little gem of an article in the june 15, 2011 wt.... should youths get baptized?“i am so happy that my daughter is now a servant of jehovah, and i know that she is happy too,” said carlos, a christian father in the philippines.

  they are making spiritual progress and are happy about serving jehovah.”christian parents have reason to be overjoyed when their children get baptized, but sometimes the joy is accompanied by uneasiness.

  No! Jesus was 30 when he got baptized and the WTS say they do everything based on the Bible so nobody should be baptized until they are at least 30!

  Dutch conventions organized like circuits

  here in holland jw.org is organizing for the first time the yearly conventions like circuits.

  the whole summer the new convention hall is used for small group conventions instead of 10.000 seat external halls.. it keeps the money in the organization.

  not renting external buildings.. the 29.000 witnesses here are divided now into 2.000 seat audience.. g..
