Smiddy , sorry l accidentally pressed dislike on your post about your d-i-law. I agree with everything you said. I worked with the public for years and customers can be awful.
There is no excuse for rudeness from salespeople but maybe reasons, like customers being nasty. Or maybe personal problems .
I like the saying " customers can be rude , ungrateful , ignorant and downright nasty- but always right "

par 7. jws are proud of bring uneducated to the point of being anti education.. par 8. the boreans studied what they were told and verified it, unlike the forbidden research now.

i’m seeing my hard core believing relatives slowly losing faith that the watchtower is the organization that “god” is using to represent him on earth.. just about all the churches in their area have opened up.. but not the watchtower.. this is having an affect on the faith of even the old timers.
now the only ones who are still holding the faith are the female jws and only those past 70 years of age.
even my old male jw relative past 70 are starting to say that it can’t be jehovah’s organization because the other churches are all open and god supposed organization who is supposed to preach the warning message is still closed with no open in sight.
My church couldn't wait to get back together in person . My Bible study group is still meeting on Zoom , but we do normally meet in someone's lounge and at the moment some of the older more vulnerable members feel uncomfortable with that .
Also during our study l have a ( small ) glass of beer and no one says a word .

looting is happening everywhere like never before.
brazen thieves walk into stores and bring a bag with them and simply throw whatever they choose in the bag.
popular chain stores have closed in certain neighborhoods because it’s just not worth it.
I have read the OP twice now and see no mention of guns or shooting. How did this turn into a discussion about guns .

many that have come to this forum have left the jws religion and moved on with their lives but from a outsider's viewpoint what do think makes the jws religion wrong or incorrect as a active christian faith ?.
somethings come to mind such as its long continuous end times/armageddon soon doctrine which has really been a core doctrine for decades going right back to its beginning .. maybe they should have adopted the stance as other christian based faiths and adhered to jesus's own words when he said " no one knows of the time not even he ".

Ultimate , that is a big difference between the Org and Christendom. When a ( sometimes very young child) is baptised into the Org that effectively means that they are " owned " by the Org. If they do anything considered wrong they are disfellowshipped and can lose pretty much everything. That is my perception of the situation, please correct me if I'm wrong .
When a baby is baptised it is welcomed into the church family. That's it , if as an adult that child chooses to come to church or not , becomes a drug addict , thief or anything else , that person is always welcome back . In fact is never thrown out .

I'm with TD on that , certainly in the UK . I don't think that l know anyone who has any idea about the WT , except maybe that they don't celebrate Christmas and that's usually because they have children of school age and are told " Sue or Tom don't have presents like we do at Christmas"
It seems that like Mormons there are lots more JWs in the States than here.

for whatever reason i was thinking on the topic of jehovah's witnesses' practice of disfellowshipping its members based on the concept of preventing "bringing reproach on jehovah's name".
follow me if you will -.
over 20 years ago a friend of mine did something rather crazy; he committed a major crime.
Paul speaks of " not eating " with such a person ie an unrepentant sinner . As l have said before l think this means not sharing the bread and wine with them .
This, he said, is to give them chance to think of what they are losing , which is not being part of an organisation, but their salvation.
So it's for the sake of the person's eternal life , not for the sake of the church .
As has been said you can't bring reproach on God . So the WT basically seems to be throwing people to the lions just to protect itself. Of course if the person then in the due course of time goes crawling back , all well and good. They have distanced themselves from whatever they have done .

if your clueless, underage child is struggling in life, don't blame yourself, stop thinking about it and move on.
Surely Hebrews 12 : 11 is talking about God's discipline, not man's.

Shunning is not a Christian way of doing things . Paul does say not to eat with Christian's who go wrong. This probably means do not share the Bread and Wine with them as this was commonly done during a shared meal .
As far as l am aware it doesn't say anywhere in the Bible to treat such people like lepers .
The WT simply uses this tactic to control it's members .
False prophecies , flip flops on doctrine , as has already been said there is too much to mention .
