What does it matter what Paul said ? Maybe because Paul definitely was anointed by God .
Rattigan where in the Bible is there anything to back that up. ?

i’ve decided to disassociate from the jw organisation.
i cannot be part of a community that blatantly rejects the sacrifice of jesus in that demonic memorial ritual.
amazing what information you find when you start researching.. i’m writing my letter and posting it to the kingdom hall this morning.

someone asked me recently when did i start to have doubts as an elder about what i was teaching from the platform.. i have given it a lot of thought and i can say that it was when i was delivering a public talk about the book of hebrews.
so i paused and read it again.. i looked at the audience and said to them let's look at the cross-reference for this verse which is hebrews 12:22 and i read that verse.
after which i remember saying "and this is how the outline puts it.... " and i read from the outline verbatim.. abraham was not looking forward to an earthly kingdom hope.
Revelation 21 talks of a NEW HEAVEN and a NEW EARTH and God making His dwelling among men . It all becomes one
The old heaven and earth are gone . So the Org.'s idea of a life on this earth as it is has to be wrong .
I have heard of JWs going round choosing which houses they will live in after all non JWs have been annihilated.
Well those houses will be gone .

Yes that's right . So the Org is wrong on all points .

Rattigan read 1Corinthians 10: 16 . Paul wrote this to the Church in Corinth, not just the original 11 . It's obvious that the church in general took to celebrating the taking of bread and wine in Rememberance of Jesus's sacrifice for everyone. Paul was totally on board with this.
There are other verses which indicate that taking Communion was not limited to just the Apostles .

Exactly Tonus . I don't know what part of the world you are in Miss DaSilva but wherever you are you will find Christians who are welcoming and will not try to take over your life .
Try a few different flavours and see which suits you best.

Miss DaSilva you sound like you do still have some religious belief. Is that correct?

richard dawkins revealed that he celebrates christmas on radio four's today programme.. here is is quoted as saying: .
'i am perfectly happy on christmas day to say merry christmas to everybody,' dawkins said.
'i might sing christmas carols - once i was privileged to be invited to kings college, cambridge, for their christmas carols and loved it.
Cofty , who is your last remark addressed to ?

on this auspicious day, i'd like to propose a question (half in fun and the other half not) to ask, ... if the governing body reviewed the origins of christmas and now proclaimed that it was now a matter of conscience, how many of the brotherhood would pick it up and start practicing it?.
for me, i think that very, very few would take issue of the change and disassociate themselves.
yes, many would question it in their minds for a while but since it would be a governing body sanctioned holiday, i think a very surprising large number would do so with zeal ... particularly in europe, were it still has wholesome family traditions.
The term ' a matter of conscience ' always sounds very ambiguous to me.
Like the GB doesn't really approve. So if someone started celebrating Christmas they wouldn't be disassociated but maybe viewed as spiritually weak .

it's not only the jws who do door to door witnessing.
the independent baptists for the most part have "soul winning", mainly door to door witnessing and leaving tracts, as a tennet of their faith.
this discussion is interesting:.
Vanderhoven, that's right . Scripture says that Paul preached in the homes of believers but there is no record of going door to door preaching.

In my church we have sometimes got the children singing Happy Birthday to Jesus . Jan from Tam.
