  admittedly it 90% crap over there but still they are up to 80k in subscribers.

  over here it's the same half dozen or so that posts something, including myself.

  why is that?.

  Vienne , yes there are people who don't always spell properly and whose grammar isn't perfect like what mine is .

  However I'm not sure that bad spelling and grammar indicates a lack of wisdom

  Education and wisdom are two different things . .

  Well it does show that science and a knowledge of doesn't have to clash with faith. It's not a case of either or as creationists believe.

  has anyone heard of this jw guy?.

  apparently he writes a weekly (weakly?

  ) blog as well as having written this book where he claims he disses the claims of "apostates".. to know what apostates are saying he has to be engaging with them or tuning into websites like this one, contravening the gb's direction not to do so.

  as witnesses we always looked forward to the new world but the talks were more about the incoming king and man’s freedom from oppression.

  although we looked forward to the good things ,we recognised that initially things may be hard .

  we would have to cope with physical work , and lack of many things we were used to today.

  I have just read Jesus's words to the Sadducees who asked about the resurrection

  " those who are considered worthy of taking part in the age to come and in the resurrection from the dead will neither marry nor be given in marriage and they can no longer die , for they are like Angels. "

  I have heard that Witnesses go round choosing the best houses to live in after Armageddon. Yes that is simply conforming to the world's standards , something that we are warned against.

  TD there are lots of serious scientists, as opposed to the funny kind , who are Christians.

  I have mentioned before a chap called Hugh Ross who is a Canadian Astrophysicist. He has written several books including ' The Improbable Planet ' which gives a VERY detailed account of how the earth came to be . He and many others have no problem marrying faith and science together.

  One of the lay readers in my church is a retired research scientist in the chemical industry .

  Are they using it in the sense of Armageddon is imminent? Which is their usual stick with which to beat their followers .

  I just saw a man on a tractor zoom past shouting " the end is nigh , the end is nigh " .

  I think it was Farmer Geddon .
